That's a tough one... If you can bring the manifolds forward and low then mount the turbos above them and run the downpipe back over the top of the manifolds.

I have twins in my '69 Nova, but I changed to an aftermarket subframe with rack & pinnion steering in the middle of the build. I still had the same problem getting the driver's side down pipe routed past the steering shaft though. With my turbos facing forward, I used a 3" 45° bend off the turbo then leveled it back out with another 45° so it could pass under my brake master cylinder. Then I added a 90° bend at the firewall (between the engine and steering column) and a second 90° under the car to level it back. I had to add a v-band between the two 90° elbows for it to be removable. I don't have a picture of the final product, but here is an in-process picture of the DS downpipe:

I can feel for you trying to fit that with the rear-steer stock subframe. The aftermarket subframe really gave me clearance for the turbo plumbing. After taking my first short burst of wide open throttle this past weekend I can only say keep after the build. These cars are animals with twin turbo'd LS engines. Absolutely insane.

I'll throw up a recent picture of my engine compartment for any help it may give you. I still need to re-install the driver's side inner fender - it will need to be cut and notched for clearance around the turbo:

I used mild steel for my 2½" and 3" hot pipes. Right now I am supporting the turbos with an adjustable length rod from the frame to the T4 flanges.

If I can fit two downpipes and turbo's in an ls1 rx7, then surely you guys with your massive engine bays can fit them!
