Default 1998 s-10 5.3l 4l60e

i have a 1998 s-10 that i have done a 2006 5.3L and a 4L60E swap, the truck was originally a 4cyl 5-speed and i used Currentperformance for my harness, i got it running with vats turned off and have not had it tuned yet untill i have all other things figured out.... i just finished with the rear end swap and now on to another issue ive been having....

all guages work when in park, neutral, and reverse....

when i put it in drive i loose coolant guage and fuel guage and i loose communication to the OBD port... the harness i have from Currentperformance has a ground to the back of the head and one to the chassis...

i do have grounds ran from block to chassis, batt to chassis, and batt to body

any ideas would be highly appreciated

I would also put one from core support to frame, maybe worth a shot.

Are you using the OE neutral safety switch on the transmission? Sounds like it may be a place to look.

i replaced the tranny switch with a new OEM switch, still does the same thing... i am in the process of now changing my truck accessories to F body accessories, and a larger radiator and cleaning up some things... also looking on changing to a th400 of powerglide for a future turbo, on a LSX 4L60E tranny what wiring do i actually need? i would like to be as minimal as possible.... i hate wiring!

Junky,

If you can pm me the pinout of the connector that is going to your nss I would like to start there to narrow down your problem. All I need is the colors and position on the connector, if you have questions on how to remove the dress cover just pm me and ill reply with my number and ill tell ya how to take it off.

I am 99% sure your problem lies in the NSS wiring from the symptoms of your problem.
