How tight is the rad to steering box clearance? I have the same box in my Biscayne and ended up grinding the box down to make room in there.

Looks great!

Can you run a 1 piece driveshaft with those X-frames? I remember my buddy had a hell of a time putting power through that two piece shaft on his '62 Impala. He was going through driveshaft bearings like no tomorrow.

hey can some one tell me somethign.......okay so in the pic the hose coming off of the driver side valve cover at the rear goes across the back of the motor and Y's to the rear of the passenger side valve cover then goes to a PVC valve then to the intake on the passenger side....my question is

can i run a pvc directly in the driver side rear valve cover and then a hose directly to the passenger side intake....

if so do i need an open orfice or closed orfice pvc......im entirely confused on what is what with the pvc's..........thanks

Just one correction - PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) not PVC. So in other words eliminate the passenger PCV hookup altogether? Just run one from the driver's side? Older small blocks did this, but why would you want to eliminate it?

An open orifice style PCV valve is the type that makes a noise when you shake it. The fixed orifice PCV has a small hole 0.010" or so and makes no noise when shaken.

Based on my minimal research, the fixed orifice may be a better option to keep oil consumption at a minimum.

thats a great read thanks doug.......and yes was tired lastnight and typed pvc hahaha my mistake......and as for eliminating the passenger side pcv hook up on the passenger side valve cover.......i dont want to.......my passenger valve cover doesnt have the pcv tube coming out of the rear of the cover it only has a tube coming out of the front side of the cover......which i believe that that tube goes to the top of the throttle body......so after all this reading im guessing running a pcv from the driver rear valve cover to the intake will be fine...........thanks so much for the replys doug.............now to finish up the wiring and try to fire this car up.

Your problem is you are attaching the images to LS1Tech and people like myself host our own (others use photobucket or similar). I use the "insert image" button on the top tool bar when you send a message. You can also place [ IMG ] *URL* [ /IMG ] (without the spaces) around the link and it will show up full size from it's source. Since I host all my photos on my personal web site I control the sizes, resolution and can update them at will.

For example using your pictures hosted on LS1Tech with instructions above:

If you still don't understand, hit me with a PM and we can talk further.
