Cool! I've got a '64 that I want to swap an LS into sometime in the future. Did the CPP big brakes come with a new master cylinder/booster? Curious to know if it will clear the coil packs or not.

Wow!! I've got a '64 basket case that I'm doing the same identical thing to. I'm even going the silver rear end housing route. Its cool seeing my goal in pics. Thanks. How much fun was it putting those front springs in with no weight in frame. I guess sitting the motor down in the frame helped. I see that you used the Holly pan but what mount adapters and trans mount did you use?

front springs went in easy had a spring compressor that went inside the spring and came out the bottom of the coil was pretty lucky to have it actually......as for the mounts they are transdapt mounts and the trans mount was from hubbards impala parts...but i wouldnt use it again...ive seen others out there that mount nicer......the holly pan fit good once i beat the top of the frame in a bit with a big hammer and spaced the motor mounts off the frame a bit think its about 1/8th i had to space them up.

the kit i bought didnt come with master or booster i purchased it separately and havnt tried fitting it yet....from what ive seen is it should fit might not be able to run the coil covers tho but im still tossing the idea around about not running the covers cause i do like the look of no coil covers as much as i like it with them....but when it comes down to it cpp makes a bracket for the booster to move it 1 inch towards the driver side so either way it will be okay

That's cool, I'm going to order mine today, didn't know if I should wait
Until I get it to put my motor in. It's my understanding that some of the
Senders might be hard to get to

Hey teal , Im having the worst time trying to get my ls1/4l60 mounted in my car...
if you dont mind answering a few questions maybe you can help a newbie out.
what offset did you use on your adapters?
how tall are your mounts?
how close to the firewall does your motor set?
i thought i had it all figured out, but its been in/out 45 times
It was the 283/700r, that i took out..it was my understanding that the tranny would sit in the same location as the 700 did, but when its bolted up the drive shaft will not reach
i tried the standard and the 1" offset adapters, but both set the engine to far back, so far that the firewall is sooo in the way..so bad that the mounts are not even close to going over the stands...
if any of this sounds crazy, straighten me out plz, im going crazy here
thanks Zack
love your car also

man sounds like your having a night mare there.....im so lucky mine jst fit..all i could tell ya is i used the trans dapt standard offset motor mounts and i had to space my frame motor mounts up off the frame like 1/8th to clear the frame and i used the 700r4 crossmember from hubbards impala parts.....it all fit with little firewall clearance but there is enuff.....id say 1-2 inchs.

hey teal, just wanted to update you on my fitting issues...
i used standard adapters one more time and it slipped right into place, cant tell you why but it did just that..
I also had to shim them up just a bit, but now im on to bigger and better things, might try and bust it off this weekend, if i get my gauge cluster all buttoned up..
thanks for your help
Zack

Default lm7 swap with ls1 intake

good morning ls1tech and tealdeuce.
you're the truck motor with the car intake. on the truck motor, the driverr side valve cover has an large hole in the rear on the truck intake its connected to the top of the truck intake. the ls1 valve cover may not have a provision for this. that hole i assume is for pcv. the opening/port in the front of the passenger side valve cover connects to the throttle body on the truck motors. again you would have look at your car intake and try match these two connections up. i hope this helps. i wish i pics to show you. if you have the truck intake with the throttle body you will see my point. good luck. take care. keep wrenchin'.
