Today I stripped and painted the engine bay. Tomorrow the motor and trans go back in the car.
I also swapped the crank gears. the stock one came off with no issues. After heating the ls2 gear in the oven it slid right on

Looks REALLY good painted to body color.

What did you use for your paint under the hood? I picked up a can of Dark Shadow Grey at Oreilly's the other day to try, but haven't even pulled it out of the bag to look and see if it matches lol.

I gave the lady at O'reilly the factory paint code and she mixed it up in a can for me.

Today I installed the motor and trans. Friday afternoon I'll finish up the brakes and install the drive shaft and shift. If I have time I'' put the header in.

I finished up the rear brakes and swapped springs back to the stock with a coil cut off. I also adjusted the coil overs, installed my scott rod panels and installed the pushrods, rocker arms, driver shaft, intercooler, pass side turbo header. I ordered most of the fuel system fittings and turbo oil lines.

I'm running into a few issues. The turbo sits kinda high so I can either cut a hole in the hood (not going to happen) or lower the kmember and trim the merger to get the 1 1/4" clearance. I'm going to test fit a buddy's T70 and see if it fits better. If so I'll run it and make up the difference with meth

I finally get a day off and now I'm sick.... I drilled the holes in my gas tank where my sump will fit. Mounted my battery box in the trunk. I ordered a t70 turbo since the 76 doesn't fit without more header modifications. Tomorrow I plan of finishing up the front brake lines, running the battery cables, and maybe get the shifter installed.

Did you have to transfer over to the ls1 crank pulley or will a truck crank pulley still clear the piping down there?

It looks like the truck pulley will clear. I have to pull the ls1 pulley off to change my drain fitting to a 90. Ill test fit the truck pulley and let you know
