Low Alternator for Low Cost
So as the title reads im lookin to get my alt bracket lower for hood clearance and im on a budget...just had a baby so i gotta keep cost down. I have a bodydropped s10 that the 05 5.3 tahoe motor is goin in. already picked up a ls1 intake and fuelrails and a camaro waterpump. I was lookin at the kwik, speedway or dirty dingo kits but like I said the budgets is lower now so im lookin for more options...I dont have a p/s pump or alt yet so i can buy whatever is needed for what you guys suggest...any help will be appreciated.

You have to match the balancer to the all the other accessories as the truck, f body, and vette all have different spacing relative to the timing cover...so to answer your question yes...

Can't use the truck alt/p/s bracket cause I have hood issues and I'm keeping stock hood for sure. That's why I was asking cause with camaro bracket will let alt clear hood. Guess yur saying I could run camaro bracket with spacer rather then getting new balancer pulley?

I think its a half inch.
The truck alternator will fit the F-body bracket.
Don't forget that you're going to have to drill the extra hole in the block (not that its hard, I did mine in the car - twice).

Offset from F-body to truck is 3/4". You can swap pulleys on the waterpump to use an F-body pump with truck offset. F-body alternator may be very close to your steering box. If your truck block is iron I would go with an F-body alternator as it has a rear mount for better support. The iron block doesn't have the center mounting hole so you really need the rear support bracket, IMO.
