Stripped out the interior and started wiring for stereo. Also need to run a lead for the fuel pump and various other potential future accessories. My 3.62 ring and pinion gear showed up along with my billet M5 front diff mount bushing and Aeromotive FPR. Ordered my Aeromotive stealth 340 pump which should be here tomorrow.

I would return the A340. It's quite the disappointment. You are better off with the new Walbro 405. The A340 may have higher published numbers, but it is pretty much capable of what a 255 is.

Anything to back up that claim? I haven't read anything like that. In fact, I have really read nothing but good things about that pump.
If you know someone who had a bad experience, I would be curious how they wired it. I am running a 10 gauge power wire to mine..

Working on that. Unfortunately the cargo floor doesn't have the room for duals like the M5's do. So the plan as of now is to cut part of the floor out and raise it up which just means I have to relocate the battery and lose the spare. Since I have roof racks, I am considering buying a safari/rallye style rack for the spare to mount on for trips. People on the BMW forum think I am nuts for that but I wouldn't use it often and it would be purely for utility although I think I could make it actually look cool.
I used a single Borla XR-1 on my turbo E34 so I plan to start with twin XR-1's and twin cats. My headers have 2.5" collectors but I want to see if I can get those swapped out for 3" to run twi 3" from the headers back. Seems to be difficult to fit anything larger that 2.5's though

Hahaha. It will probably be worth far more in parts than as a whole. If I were ever to sell this car, it probably wouldn't be a penny under $30k if not more. I really have an attachment to this one though as I have wanted to do something like this forever. I love wagons!
My M5 diff showed up and sheesh is that thing massive.
Also test fit my M rear bumper.

More stuff. Cleaned up the M5 diff before dissasembly, took a better shot of the rear bumper. New parts : HD subframe bushings, diff bushings, clutch parts, master cylinder, PS fittings, Shroeder sway bar mounting bits etc. I mounted the clutch pedal, cut down the auto brake pedal and put a new pad on it, knocked out the master pass through, and I fitted the Aeromotive stealth in the OEM housing.

I bought a 1.5" sway bar and arms from Shroeder stock car products. It's a beast. I had the arms bent to fit this application. Josh (Jesus freak) is running the same setup.

Excellent build... only thing I don't like is the iron block, but it is what it is. Keep up the good work.
Is that an aftermarket designed rear bumper or is it off some other variant of 5-series?
Are you swapping the entire interior to black (door panels too) or just the dash/carpet? If so, why? The tan looks really classy with the brown.
Gadsen flag plate = cool.
Anyone delete the rear wiper on these cars? It sticks out on an otherwise extremely clean form.

Thanks!!
I agree about the iron block but for the price I paid and for what it is, I am fine with it. Shooting for 600 at the tires and I also plan on adding a S/C'er down the road so at least the block can handle anything I throw at it.
It is an aftermarket rear bumper but a copy of the OEM M bumper. It was just 1/2 price of the OEM.
I am going to swap everything to black. I hate tan! I considered dying some of the tan parts tobacco and doing a two tone and still might. Bought a complete sedan interior for $500 and will just need a back seat for the touring.
I have seen a deleted wiper but it looks funny IMO and I really like having a rear wiper.

I have been studying these photos to try and come up with a game plan for exhaust. My headers have 2.5" collectors but my friend at PTCS and one of the guys from Thomson seemed a bit appaled by that So I would like to try and go dual 3". Would love to get the opinions of LS1tech as you all will have more experience with this than most on the BMW forums. First of all, is it that important for me to run twin 3's? I have been told by some that it should only rob about 15-20hp but some others felt it would be much more significant.
I am thinking of modding the spare well like this to fit dual mufflers out back. Ideally I am thinking I should run 2 mufflers (or a single dual in/out) in the middle and 2 in the back with cats up front as well.
I was talking with Clay and was thinking of running a single muffler right about where the o2 sensors are in this pic. Dual 3" in and out which would also act as the x pipe (if I didnt go that route I would still run twin 3" round mufflers where the 02 sensors are in this pic and the x pipe where the Y is all the way to the right of this image below.
And of course the final option which would allow me to keep the spare well would be something like this. I just worry about the lack of mufflers with this setup. I want it to be loud but I also want to be able to DD it to work etc.
And lastly, a great shot of the underside of the Alpina just for reference.
