Default ? Sensors, Alternator and Electric Fans

I want my old style gauges to work correctly, so going to need some redundancy in sensors. Oil pressure sender, what kind and where does it mount? Temperature sensor, the Holley ECU uses it but I need the gauge to work.
Alternator wiring, I have the truck alt but which wire to get the Alt guage to work?
I got a set of Z28 dual fans and the Holley ECU will control when they turn on. How many amps do they draw and what kind of protection is required? Fuseable link, fuses or circuit breaker?

Oil - You can use your C3 pressure sender, here are two ways to hook it up

To the left is the oil cooler by-pass, and the original LS sender (with tap still in). Both drilled and tapped for 1/8" NPT.
Water - The passenger head (close to firewall) has a plug that can be removed and use an adapter like this - Several people sell them. http://www.speedwaymotors.com/LS1-Wa...pter,8195.html

This is the side of my oil pan. I need to get the adapter to block this off?
I had the other head drill and tapped for the SBC temp sensor.

Yea, looks like you need the by-pass cover + gasket. There are a couple of differant styles. The one like in my pic has the cast "outlet" that can be drillled and tapped. Check out post 80 here

Any ideas of a part number for the one that can be d&t and vendor? I searched all over GM parts direct and they don't show this part on any of the diagrams for T/A, vette or camaro.

Holley LS Brackets assembled and the ECU mounted under the front passenger fender. Hope to have the engine assembled next week.

Default Rubber Air Cleaner Sleeve?

Tried to fit the rubber sleeve/connector to the throttle body today. Is there a trick or do I need an adapter. The rubber connector coupler I got with the kit measured 3.5 ID and my TB OD is 3.95. I don't think it will stretch that much?

Default Finally picked up the engine tonight.

Ready to start the installation tomorrow. Picked up the machined and assembled LS 6.0 bored .30 over with probe pistons and rods.

youre going to love the holley computer, i have it on my car, it works shaweet!..just make sure you have the current software and firmware for it.. the cranking for ls motors on the old software seemed like it always took forever to fire,now its almost instant

Where did you mount the MAT sensor? What base map did you start with?

Default Engine is Installed

Got the engine installed today and the transmission mated up. Ran into a problem the machine shop was supposed to fix and I didn't notice until it was to late. There was a broken bolt in the cylinder head that was supposed to be removed while they were in for a valve job. Loaded the whole car on a trailer and going to let them figure out how to get it out now. Should have caught it when I picked them up and the engine assembler should have caught it before he assembled the engine. Lesson learned write it down. Anyway a good day. The engine fits great. Passenger side exhaust manifold is bolted on. The starter is bolted on.

Got the vette back on the rack this morning. Made some progress and a few minor issues to address.
Transmission cooler lines are hooked up and routed. Mounted the A/C bracket and had a clearance issue with the elbows coming out the top. Don't think it would clear the hood so picked up and elbow and a tee fill valve and good to go.
Water pump 90's are real close to the A arm hopefully won't be a problem with alignment.
Attempted to mount the power steering and alt bracket and the pulley on the PS hits the A arm so need a smaller pulley. Did get the PS hoses made for the jeep box.

Couple of problems today. Power steering pump pulley from dorman 300-310 doesn't have enough off set to line up with crank pulley. .
The Throttle Body hits the neck of the water pump so going to need a spacer for that. Maybe can mount the Manifold air temp in the spacer. Suggestions?

Default Need A TB Spacer

I need a Throttle Body spacer to fit the LS 6 manifold. The cable attaching end is hitting the water pump neck. Looks like it needs to be at least and 1" from manifold to back of TB. The TB is a 3 hole for LS6 manifold. That would also give me a place to mount the MAT sensor.

Found the spacer on ebay for the TB. Mocked it up today and 1" will be fine. I also have a solution for the pulley interference. Going to take a Dorman 300-123 and have a bushing made so it will fit my .66 shaft on the PS pump.

I am getting the bushing made for the Dorman 300-201. Had a couple of small problems with the Holley cable connectors. Going to Scratchy's junk yard to get a few connectors for the sensors. Need to bend the fuel rail connection a little bit as its hitting one of the coil pack connectors. Waiting for the 1" spacer for the TB and the exhaust flanges. All the Vintage Air hoses crimped and tightened. Might get it to start then engine by this weekend.

Got a set of 42 lb injectors on the way. Waiting on some other parts. All the Holley harness is fixed and the sensors in place. Got the TB adapter from EBay and it fit perfect. Will work on exhaust tomorrow and install radiator. Hope to fire up by Monday or Tuesday.
