corvette filter fitting leak
I started my car for the first time tonight and all is well except the male fitting that goes into the feed side of the filter. It has play in it and if you push it into the filter further the leak will stop. Anyone experience this issue before?

Are you using hardline going into an adapter fitting? I have the Russel -6 adapter and noticed the same play on mine. If the line going in is pushing to one side or off angle, it might affect the o-ring seal inside the filter. I am strongly considering a swap to softline leading into that part of the filter.

I have the WIX 33733, I too have the Russell fitting w/-6 AN male end. Its a little loose too, but that's not the inlet side, its the outlet. The inlet side is the end with the two fittings.

I've got the same filter, and find it odd that there's about 1/4" of play on that outlet fitting. I haven't run mine yet, so I don't know if it will leak, but it sounds like it's a possibility. I'm wondering if you're supposed to snap one of the plastic ring-type fittings that came with the filter inside the metal prongs to take up the slack?

I have the russell AN to quick-disconnect fitting. Mine has some in and out play, seals perfect no leaks. There are two O-rings in there and you could have possibly messed up their orientation or damaged by sharp burs or dry installation on the tube.

That makes me feel better, that's exactly what I have too.

Yep, I have 640940 also. It moves around a bit. I have the Russell 640853 3/8 female and a Russell 640863 5/16 female fitting for the filter/regulator & fuel rail, they have no play in them whatsoever.

Stupid question, maybe, but how do you get that fitting back out? The quick disconnect too I have moves the metal tangs, but when you go to slide the tube out, the flange still gets caught on them.
