When I was 15, my attention was on the girls, not cars. There's no way I could have found a job that paid enough $$$ for the swap, extras, insurance, etc while being a full time student. I barely had money to have a car let alone invest in it.
I bought my 68 Camaro and back-halved it when I was 15 and stuffed a BBC in it before I turned 17 with the money I made from working (Honda's are big in my area and the muscle car craze hadn't hit yet, so it was cheap). Keep the hobby going young man, and remember when you're old and grey to pass it on to the new generation.
When I was 15 LS1s were too new and "odd" and the LS6 just came out. People were still calling them "350s."

when I was 15 they hadnt made an LT1 since 1970 let alone an ls1 ,and the talk was about the new 3rd gen f body that was coming out the next year , 2nd gens were still new lol
FWIW, you're considered old nowadays when you dubbed mix tapes for your walkman and didn't have a cell phone at 13.

I never said I was old, hell when I turn 75 I won't be old. But I can tell you when I was 15 an LS1 swap was unheard of. Now an LS1 is about as common as a SBC was then.
