04 Chrysler Crossfire Swap
Thanks to the great information on LS1Tech I got my 5.3 swap running yesterday. I'm still working on installing a Camaro gauge cluster and painting all my interior pieces. I made a quick video of it this morning.

I ran into space issues (coolant hoses in the way) and made my own mounts. Just some angle iron and a spacer. It's not a setup I'm going to run for a long time or one I would recommend anyone to build. About all I could say is that it is functional. I plan on moving the engine 4-5" closer to the firewall with a rear sump pan so I can run some OEM mounts and get power steering back.

I see you are running an LS9 cam. Did you have yo do anything to get that to work in the 5.3? Which valve springs and pushrods did you use? I'm liking the price on those cams. Thanks,Mark.

I'm using an LS2 front cover, sensor, and timing set, LS6 springs and stock 5.3 push rods.

Neat swap but they all look like a dog that got kicked really hard in the butt and now it's tail is stuck up there, permanently, just my opinion. Interested in doing one of these swaps but why in the world are these cars still over $11k for a 8 year old rice grinder. If these were more affordable, I'd be all over this swap. Am I missing something?

The rear diff should hold up, Wavetrac makes and LSD for it($1200). It's on the list of future mods. Junkyard replacements are around $125. I've been researching the diff from the Mercedes ML320 and I believe it is a bolt in replacement with a 3.7:1 ratio.

I'll do a complete walk around as soon as the interior is finished. I got all my interior pieces painted the last couple of days and was working on installing a camaro gauge cluster today. I had to make a new dust cover out of Lexan. When I tested it the tach was not working, looks like it is a serial data issue that will need to be resolved with reprogramming.
