Default HELP!! 5.3 obs silverado starts than dies

truck is a 1990 Silverado with a 2003 Chevy Tahoe 5.3 liter motor. Everything is hooked up via the wiring harness from PSI conversions, fuel lines ran with the new fuel pump upgraded to a Walbro 255. First initialfire up the motor ran for 3-5 seconds, then died no shutter or anything just turned off. Found out the cross over to go on the intake to the passenger side had no openings so fuel was squirting up words of 8 inches of the intake. We put a gauge on the fuel line to check pressure and it had good pressure. with the key on, the fuel pump did not buzz which is kinda weird right?

so we went over it again today and fired up on the first go around, it ran very good for 10 seconds then again cut off. Tried turning it over again and nothing. Anyone have any thoughts kinda stumped at this point.

Thanks, Justin

Sounds like VATS. Have you had it tuned out?

If it wasn't deleted it could do a couple different things, this being one of them.

Sounds like VATS or possibly temp sensor. I had something similar on my rx7. It turned out that I did not have my temp sensor on the passenger head (iirc) plugged in.

I have mine plugged in using the stock harness ( which is uncut) with the adapter but it does throw a temp sensor code still...

Sounds like a fuel pump/pressure issue to me. Have you had it running with a pressure gauge hooked up?

Stock harness or PSI harness? I would think you need the PSI harness connected, stock one would only be for your gauge not the ECM

The connection on the psi harness is different than the stock.harness. the stock harness too s hooked up. The psi harness has a totally different sensor connection. Currently it is not hooked up.

Don't remember if this has any bearing on it, but do you have the VSS hooked up?

I don’t have any experience with it and my computer is at PSI for adjustments now so I’m unable to unplug my temp and try it but if MDoe8 had issues maybe you need to try plugging in the PSI harness to correct temp sensor and see if it helps. If you dont have the sensor call/email PSI Jon and ask.
Good Luck.

How about the MAF?If its not in the intake airflow,it will also start and die in a few seconds, either unplug it or get your air intake together.

When you say 'Temp Sensor' are you referring to the engine coolant temp sensor on the driver's cylinder head? If so, that has to be hooked up from my harness as it is telling the PCM how to fuel the engine. If it is not hooked up it defaults to -40-F and it will flood the engine. Give us a call to discuss at 732-691-6531. Thanks.
