Porsche 914 LS1
The car is a '75 914 Porsche. It is a SoCal car that sat idle in a garage for 14 years....no rust anywhere! If you go to 914WORLD, I've posted a retrospective build thread under the user name: Andys
Here's a run-down of what I have done:
-'01 LS1 mated to an Audi 01E 6 speed transaxle (I fabricated the adapter plate)
-QuarterMaster bronze/ceramic clutch and button flywheel
-Stainless exhaust with Flowmaster 3 chambered mufflers (heat shields in strategic places)
-'89 Porsche Carerra suspension and brakes
-Stainless braided brake lines
-Custom fabricated rear trailing arm suspension
-Koni double adjustables in the rear, single adjustables in front
-Porsche 993 wheels
-Flared fenders
-AFCO ASA racing radiator
-Custom fabricated cable shifter
-Air conditioning and heat
-The color is PPG code M7Z, GT Silber (silver)
There's a ton of custom fabricated parts and pieces that I made. I also did all the bodywork and paint. If you have any questions, please do ask.
I plan on taking the car to Willow Springs Raceway to do some suspension tuning before too long; can't help the racer in me!

Do you have more pictures in another thread of the build up?
What did you use for AC?
In my first post you'll see where I direct you the a build thread. For AC, I used a Hot Rod Air under dash unit hooked to the Camaro variable volume compressor. HRA said it is compatible, but I have yet to charge the system, so we'll see. HRA is apparently no longer in business.
Merim123,
The 01e first is a bit short, however it works out well for two reasons. First, I have a steep driveway to the garage and the low first is perfect, and second, the QuarterMaster clutch is essentially a race clutch (no Marcel spring) so it's pretty abrupt; the low first gets the car moving with a minimum of chatter.
Here are a couple of miscellaneous photos:

Great conversion. The 01E S4 transaxles are very stout. What does it weigh approximately? I know they are about 1/10 the price of a built up G50.
What does the car weigh? Do you feel you could use more power or is it ridiculously fast already?

I brought the transaxle over from Europe when the exchange rates were favorable some years ago. A front drive only transaxle was never available in the US.
I don't know the weight of the car yet. I need to re-connect with my stockcar buddies and put it on the scales (corner weights, etc). I still plan to take the car to WSIR and use a HPDE as a test and setup session to dial in the suspension. I did, however, set the camber and toe for the track when I first aligned the chassis.
Yeah, it's pretty fast as is. Don't plan on any engine mod's, as I want to keep it street friendly...my racing days are well behind me :-(
