Awesome car man! I'm just starting on an 86 Marquis with an LQ4 swap...still trying to find a 4L80e instead of going with a TH400. I'll definitely use some of your info to help me along!

few more updates:

it finally warmed up here and stopped snowing so ive been driving the car all week pretty much. ive been accumulating parts for the past few weeks to convert it to 5 lug so i could put some more appropriate wheels on it. so heres my 5 lug conversion on the cheap:

for the front: i used 89 lincoln mark 7 front rotors (if you have v8 front brakes your wheel bearings will work you just need grease seals from the lincoln also) $35 each at my local parts store for each rotor $9 for each seal.

for the rear: the wagons have 10inch drum brakes so i used the 5 lug axle as a template and just drilled the drums out but if you have a mustang or 2/4door fairmont/zephyr/whatever with 9inch drums you can use rear drums from a late 80's ranger pickup. when i researched all this crap with the wagon larger brakes some say aerostar van drums will work but theyre wider so i wasnt messing with changing the whole rear brake setup to aerostar **** lol.

now it looks like this:

also does pretty good burnouts

So Mustang V8 spindles, bearings. Lincoln rotors and seals? For the front?

finally got the car to the track yesterday, went to Cecil county to try the 11.50 index for their Saturday streetcar shootout. first pass went 11.62@117 with a 1.62 60ft (ended up qualifying 7th) went out first round though lol trying to play the game mid track and it bit me in the *** (had the race won on the tree too which sucks) but it was the first pass iv'e made in a new car, haven't driven a "faster" car in like 2 years so aside from the loss it was a success overall.

Loving the car! What steering rack are you using? Is it a manual rack?

cool wagon, how much did it make on the dyno. I thought you were going to do a turbo on the car. Maybe I got it mixed up with another wagon on the board.

330 to the tire with a converter that's too loose. I built this thing because I already had the headers, K-member, rear, and trans/converter. if I didn't have any of that I probably would have done a turbo setup. theres always the next one

once I figure out what it like to leave at off the footbrake and shift points I see no problem going .50's consistently. I got a lot of mixed comments about it most thought I was in the wrong class(2 people in the lanes asked me if I knew this lane was for 11.50 index) so I guess the hubcaps work lol
