Default What makes these sound so bad ***?

I realize the cam has alot to do with it but I'm about to redo the exhuast on my lq4 swapped 77' 280z and I'm after the crackle that I hear alot of vettes spitting out. What is it about the vettes that make them sound so badass? I'm building a dual 3" system with an x pipe and magnaflow race series mufflers. I currently have a .590 .590 114lsa cam so nothing crazy.

If you like that raspy crackly sound... my original choice of sweet thunders may work for you.

Usually F-bodies don't sound like this

You can tell if this guy had a cam it would sound similar.

That was the car I modeled off of for my ls1 rx7, and when the engine was stock I got this sound

They were too loud on their own so I added in some dynomax bullets and I think the car sounds more like most F-bodies now.

Well I'm in the process of getting some long tubes and I'm ditching the magnaflows (they sound good but to "organized" at idle for me) I like how the vette crackles and has that raspy idle and then when you open it up it sounds nice and clean.

IMO I think the true duals always sound better / more choppy.. The x pipe may give you a bit but if your after sound seperate those pipes..

I do it one way or the other.. either true duals or one HUGE pipe.. but i like the more tame sound so......

if you want an animal slp loudmouth's with true duals, no cats, and a h pipe will make **** run and hide and have the nastiest idle a big cammed ls can produce but everyone that lives around you prolly won't enjoy it as much as you but if you have jerks for neighbors all the better
