Ms2 or stock PCM/hp tuners for stand alone 70 nova.
Hey guys looks for a little direction, I have been working on my 70 nova that I just put an lq9 in with a th350. My question is this, all I have is a motor no harness or computer. Which is going to be the best software for my application ms2 or the factory computer? This is an 80 percent track car and maybe see 20 percent street duty. The goal is to run on motor for a little while and eventually move on to a turbo so I need a tuning software that will be able to do both.

It's 2002 lq9, I have been looking at prices for a a harness, computer, and hp tuners software and the price is up the there when compared to ms2 with a harness. I guess what I'm really asking is, is the cost of the factory PCM with hp tuners really justifiable?

You are better off finding a local guy to pay him for credits and use his hpt interface. I have three interfaces and several of my local car buddies have them too. Just ask around locally. It can save you some bux. Unless you want to have the box for future projects and your config is close to stock, you can also go with a mail order tune if it is a stock lq9 config.

The MS2 setup is the most basic (low cost) setup that could work for you. Less than $500 but you will have to hack your own wiring. Capable of doing anything, with you and your laptop at the helm. Just beware that the Msquirt 24x code is not quite perfect. More than likely it will work fine for you.
