Help with C4 ZR1 project
we want to make it street/drag car , And planning to remove engine+transmission and swap for something with serious HP. something in the range of 600-700hp
What do you guys recommend for a budget of $27K
1- Engine ? Crate engine ? which block ? other options ?
2- Transmission ?
3- Rear end ? What rear end will hold that power ?

Drag racing kills them so you would want to go sra.
I don't want to be ending searching for someone who knows how to work on lt5.

There are "kits" to backhalf the vette but they are expensive and require cutting.

Interesting ,so the lq4 block is good for these kinds of power ! what about the lq9 if you were talking about availability.
I will put this among my options , another noob questions. How do I know which stroke will be good for my setup ? Forged internals ,cam , ported heads and a supercharger looks like a good idea ? right or not ?

I had to google that , first time I hear about ERL performance. Easier to buy a built short block than buying the block only. But need to read and search more about this.
Can you clear some of the stuff there ?
There are NA and superturbo packages , if I'm planning for a turbo or a supercharger , I should go with turbo packages as they have a lower CR ?
Before removing that motor I would contact Jeff at Pacific Northwest ZR1. He builds someone of the fastest ZR1's in the U.S.

I own a C4 , so what is a C4ZR1 worth to me !! Can't argue about the value of those machines, But that car needs a lot of work on body and interior, selling the engine and transmission will give me some good cash.
and in the end ,it will be a faster ZR1 with a better engine !!!
