Not wireless meaning there's no plug wires but there was a little box that the wiring harness plugs into and it wirelessly controlled coils

No, I doubt it. At a minimum, the coils would still need at least two wires and a ground and some form of RF receiver/controller--which I can't see working very well with a several-thousand-volt spark firing off hundreds of times per second right there. That's a lot of expensive engineering just to avoid using controller wires.

Something like that would cost a fortune because:

A. It would be so far beyond complicated to design and produce..if it's even possible

B. There is no market for such a thing

If you don't like the look of the coils (let's be honest, who does?) make or modify fuel rail covers, or hide the coils somewhere else and use longer plug wires.

I would see a lot of issue with mis-fire and timing due to many sources of electrical static or interference.

Sounds like a good way of winning races. .Just build a jammer or something to cause interference ! LOL.. could even cause a mis-fire and blow up everyones engine.. yikes !

Just thinking ! ...

I wouldn't want anything on my engines to be 'wireless'.. Most people already deal with the headaches of wire trouble shooting. Could you imagine dealing with some wireless crap.

Though a bare motor with no harness laying over it looks nice, I will just have to deal with it.

NOTE: Not my pic below. Thread to where I found the image: https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...on-please.html

That's the PCM that is made into the fuel rails. It still has to have wires to the coils.

I don't like seeing wires, so i relocated my coils to the end of the heads and oriented them so the plug wire points up and the harness connector points down, hiding the vast majority of the harness from view. You might not have room to place them on the ends of the heads, but the same could be done in other locations as well.

Wires are my friends. The more, the merrier

Just kidding, this is a pic of my preliminary mockup, before I got POed at my Holley EFI and went the carb route. All of that wonderful plumbing and wiring work is now considerably more professional.

No matter what you do the coil packs will at least need 12 volt power.

Like someone said above the "MSD atomic EFI LS kit" just builds the ECU into the fuel rails reducing the number of wires.

I like the stock coil packs. Keeping the spark plug wires short and isolated from each other is the way to go.
