Default How to keep power steering in Foxbody

Doing a 5.3 swap into a 91 mustang 4 cyl was wondering how you all went about keeping power steering?

No help from me. I ditched the power steering. On my fox hopefully I won't regret it.

There are a couple of different ways to go about it:

To keep the Mustang rack and use the LS power steering pump, you need an adapter hose kit, and you need a pressure reduction kit to lower the pressure to the Ford level.

Borgeson Mustang Hose kit

Pressure reduction kit

I'm actually working on a set of brackets so you can use the Ford power steering pump and alternator with the LS engine, the idea being most people don't get the accessories with their swap and would have to pitch the Ford stuff they started out with.

They're like these https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...-ps-pumps.html

Only they use the Ford accessories instead of the GM. PM me if you're interested and feeling adventurous. LOL

Good Luck!
Steve

Honestly I ran the c5 Vette ps pump and used AN adapters and a premade ps braided line. Cost me about $40 for the lines and it works perfect with no pressure reduction. For the return line it plugged right into the Vette reservoir.

Def use the borg pressure reducer kit.i didnt at first and after about 100 miles my rack started puking fluid out of everywhere. Added the kit and a new 4cyl rack and 800 miles later its all good.another reason to do it is issues in the steering. Mine was super sensitive plus I had a odd shake in the wheel at freeway speeds that also went away after

I have the newer brake hydrobooster and rack in my mustang, would that reduction kit work for this setup as well?
