You can cut the flange off the trans crossmember and weld it to the other side. Then flip the crossmember 180deg.
You don't need the over priced conversions.
Drilling new holes in the frame rails for the crossmember is and option too.
As far as using the stock tank with fuel injection is a total dick around, even with a sump welded in.

Anyone know how large a cowl hood must be in order for a ls truck intake/alternator to fit under the hood of a 70 Camaro. Considering a 5.3L or 6.0L with just changing the oil pan. Then I won't have to worry about the accessories on the gear box it seems.
Also considering running an inline walboro 255 and a corvette regulator if need be. That way I can reuse my original tank.

I appreciate the help, actually kinda on hold on this, sent the body out so I could get a new tail panel put on and get some new metal welded in, the lower parts of the quarter panels are getting soft. Waiting on it to come back.

Been working on the body of this 70 camaro
I realized I haven't updated this in a long time. I got engaged since I last posted on here. My fiance doesn't mind my car passion at all, my first project is supposed to be getting a new "Race car" since I sold my 12 second 95 Z28 for her ring. She of course loved to drive that car at the track and wants another one. HOWEVER, this wedding planning check lists are taking up my much needed time to be productive. After august 22nd, I will feel like a much free-er man.
I got the tail panel professionally installed at a body shop. It was a task I could not take on, on my own. I have been working on the body since and doing other minor things when I get tired of sanding down body filler and popping out dents. Sadly, there are a lot of dents and dings from over the years. Hardest part of it all, is knowing that its just going to be a 8 cylinder automatic 70 Camaro like it was from the factory and won't hold any more value than that.
I removed the old, house connector wiring harness and cleaned up the engine bay. Installed a new heater core and blower motor.
Removed the old headliner and purchased a new one, now I need to run the rods through the new headliner. I also purchased a new black rug, insulation, black deluxe seat covers & door panels.
tonight I had removed the old and damaged radiator core support for a new/used one I had purchased over a year ago. Going to get the brackets sandblasted this week and primed.
I ordered a new body bushing kit as well. going to remove the frame to clean that up and paint it.
I have not committed to a drive train yet. My goal is only 500 to 600 horsepower. I have been offered a 5.3 Lm7 with 100k on it, complete with all accessories, harness and computer for $400. I already have a f-body oil pan and pick up to install for it if I went that route. I know the right cam would get it close to 400 hp. I can not stop thinking about turbo charging with 5 to 7 psi though. I see the articles and the builds. Just not ready to commit to something yet but I don't want to pass that deal up. I got a ways to go till I get to that point anyway.

Nice progress thus far. Why so much bondo on the roof/quarters? Just dents that you mentioned?

I was always taught to put a lot on and sand a lot off. The roof had quite a few little dings in it from nuts or something. Car sat underneath a tree for a while. Actually every panel on this car had its fair share of dings and dents everywhere. Wish I knew how bad it really was before I stripped the many layers of paint and repaint from it.

Got my new OER low rise spoiler. test fitted it and found all the middle studs were in the wrong holes. Got the studs moved around and now things want to line up. Just have to adjust 2 holes in the trunk.
Got some of the brackets for the core support sand blasted and primed black.
Also finally got in my brand new spectra fuel tank and efi ready fuel pump assembly, part# gm42fci. Pretty excited about that, but thinking of pulling that pump and installing my spare 255l/hr walboro I have. This current pump is only capable of 190L/hr to 200L/hr with 85-115 psi.
Hopefully tomorrow get the core support & hood hinges cleaned up and primed black.

Got the holes on the trunk situated so the spoiler goes on easy. Also primed the spoiler. Started sandblasting the hood supports and cleaning up the radiator core support.

Knocked off some small bits this weekend at work. Cleaned up the inner fenders for what i could and the radiator core support. Tomorrow I can finish painting one of the inner fenders and the core support with satin black after a quick smooth sanding out.
Helping a friend with his 99 z28 wreck this week to help fund more parts. Hopefully find a little time for this puppy at some point.

Just got offered a 6.0 ls long block out of a chevy van for core value from a friend at another shop. His customer wants the engine to be replaced due to a ticking noise and already ordered a new motor.
Going to need to price out all the brackets and everything then in order to build that motor. A cam kit would make some great horsepower and make it more reliable.
My soon to be wife has informed me that she wants to be able to drive this car on her hour commute to and from work at 70-5 mph a couple days during the week... As well as race it at the drag strip regularly (we used to go every friday test for test and tune) and Watkins Glen a couple times. I was also informed it has to go low 12's in the 1/4 mile, which I don't think would be to hard at all.
I Already have the 3.73 rear end. So a 4L60e and a 2500/600 stall would be necessary for all the highway driving. Maybe 18-24 mpg at highway speeds?
As far as the car goes. Putting all the brackets and everything back together on the core support. Will be working on the body tomorrow night and all day saturday, I told her I owe it to myself and she said okay.
