Last week monday, wrecked my 02 formula and now need a end for that. Focusing more on that. Last wed, thursday and friday I got sick and was stuck at home with a fever, sinus and ear infection.
Hoping this week will go better than last week.

Wife helped me install the 4L80e transmission and G-Force cross member.
Wheels and tires are on.
Dakota digital gauge cluster came in and interface. Finally got headliner clips since several old ones broke. New front brakes, master cylinder and hoses arrived today for this weekend.
Wife is working saturday so I have the day to go work on it.
Ordered a transmission cooler too.
I have A.D.D. on what section of the car to work on.

A few steps forward and few steps back.
Well... some progress forward and a few steps back.
Noticed yesterday morning that the passenger side of the transmission was not as flush as the driver's. Attempted to tighten it down slowly by hand and split the bell housing. So out came the transmission and off to get repaired. The guide pin also came out with the transmission, so that is where my problem is. I need 2 new guide pins for the engine block.
On the bright side, I test fitted my ebay "speed tech" conversion headers and made sure the starter fits and all the spark plugs will go in easily with the headers in. The long tube headers only required cutting off a small ear section on the passenger is bell housing for the flywheel cover, fit great otherwise. Plenty of room to change spark plugs and the starter is easily accessible too. I am very pleased with them and their fitment.
Painted my calipers silver. Going to finish the front brakes today. Got new wheel bearings, pads, rotors, calipers and hoses. Started draining the old brake fluid so I can install new DOT5 fluid. Need to run rear axle lines before I can do the fluid flush though.

Quick update:
Trans is repaired and back in. Headers, spark plugs, trans cross member are all in.
Need to get a 28 spline yoke and find a way to measure for a driveshaft.
Installed the new headliner clips. Will need to find a way to secure the headliner so its tight.
Having to jump back to a couple other projects to make some money.

It is in. Its. Not running smoothly. I think I just to need to run it to clean off the oxygen sensors. I had a problem with 4th h a coil when I first start ed d it. John. Spears(tech) seems to think I should just run it. John has been a tremendous help with question when I was trying to get it running after 4 yr hibernation.
Your car is all together. Looks amazing. Mine is a basket case.. Any recent updates?

Well I got some more progress done.
Got my buddies to help me with getting the hood on. Finally have a good idea of the whole picture of stance and everything with the hood and wheels on.
Got my accessories on, installed my ICT billet brackets too.
Got my other 98 z28 project car done and onto its new owner. I now have a spare T56 and a 6.0L with CNC ported heads and cam. Main bearing in the motor is bad and squealing. Why someone put a LS1 intake on it from a corvette without egr I do not know. Maybe they thought it was an LS6? Have to decide to either sell the speed parts and T56 or hang onto the T56 incase my wife does not like driving the 70, cause I would prefer a 6 speed. The ported heads and the big cam I would like to put on another car. Just have to figure it out I guess. I do not know what the cam is right now though and I don't know what the heads are ported to. The numbers were ground off.
Also put on my ignition coils. I need to find some ignition wires or boots that will work for the LS wires. I have a set but they do not fit factory wires.
Hired a guy to finish the headliner. I am just going to have a professional finish it so it looks good. Cause I can't deal with this right now and trying to get it pulled tight.
Still no 4L80e yoke yet, so no driveshaft measurements.
I also have to finish the brake master cylinder, power steering lines to the gear box, run brake lines on the rear end, install the new dash pad and reinstall the lower dash panels, cruise control switch, make up the engine harness & cruise control harness, run fuel line and evap line. both door windows, window regulators and panels, install the front and rear glass, exhaust system and I am sure a few more things. I can do this, probably not by the end of this summer though.
Still have to paint my 02 firebird formula front bumper cover and headlights and put that together. I will paint it when the weather is not 90 degrees plus! I miss shifting the 6 speed. My wife's 99 formula is nice, fun to drive and automatic. Just really enjoy shifting for fun.

It's been to damn hot to work. I am exhausted after being in the shop for 10 hours a day without A/C. So after work, I don't want to do much. Since my last update I went and got a 4L80e yoke out of a pick 'n pull, got a 477 u-joint and put it into a ls1 aluminum driveshaft to see if it would fit the car. Needless to say, it fits, barely with the car in the air. With it in the air, the yoke is hanging out by 3.5". That driveshaft is 41" long. So should I get a driveshaft made that is 43" long? I do not know yet how much it is going to slide in with the vehicle on the ground level, but I don't think that it will be 3" worth... Maybe more like an inch to an inch and a half.
I have not had much luck researching drive shaft lengths for swaps. As everyone's is different by a little bit here and there.
Anyone else have any input on this?

Well I just realized it has been a very long time since I posted any progress but it has also been awhile since I have had time to do much progress. My wife can not live with my neighbors anymore so we have had to do some home doll-up and painting and are searching for a new house. She actually would like a tiny/small house and is okay with me having a giant garage.
I spent some time parting out a Volvo S60R for a friend to make a couple bucks and finally went on my vacation of 10 days in Ireland which only helped putting off working on the 70.
I have posted my 02 Formula with 23k original miles for sale for 15g. No real serious interest yet though. Hoping to use the money towards a new house and to finish this car.
The headliner was done professionally.
I did get a few things ordered and in process. The driveshaft has been made and is in place. I Ordered an upper radiator support, dash pad clips, chrome trans pan with a drain plug (drain plug is the real reason for it), some exhaust reducers, trans cooler and power steering lines. I also custom ordered a PSI conversion harness, but I was told it will be a bit. Hopefully get it this week or next.
Well... I now have to spend 6grand this week on a new roof to make a house deal this week. So hopefully spend some time getting the interior done or working on the wiring that still needs to be done.
I need to fine and order bigger intake piping and a mass air to work with it. I have a factory maf, but I would need to find a reducer. Anyone have any thoughts on this and how much it affects performance? Suggestions for finding the piping other than going to Home depot.

Not much to report other then got my OER dash pad installed.
Received my psi wiring harness, still need to install it.
Installed my chrome TCI trans pan with its nice drain plug.
Chrome on the differential cover is crap, going to have to paint it flat black so it looks better. The drain plug feature is nice and what I wanted from it.
Could not make a plastic radiator from an LS1 camaro work without folding it excessively or hitting the hood. Bought the griffin LS radiator from summit that said it works for 70 Camaro. It is way way to short on width to cover the full length of the core support. So I will be drilling the cheap chrome upper radiator support and I already had to modify my urethane radiator support bushings to fit it.
Bought some transmission cooler line connectors for the transmission. The factory 98-02 trans lines will not work, hitting oxygen sensors and manifolds. I just got some silverado ones, see if they fit any better, otherwise may just have to run some rubber hose which I am not to fond of.
Ended up having to break my ignition lock cylinder the old fashion way to get it removed with a screwdriver. Never got a key for it. May have to get a column now as the new one turns but the drive is not properly engaging the rod. *face:palm*
On the road to a new house. So be a bit before I get any new parts... Hopefully get what I have already installed in the meantime.
