2018 Update: After this https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...der-walls.html in 2017 I got my new engine running in Feb. 13.5:1 447ci Darton sleeved aluminum 5.3 block from Steve at RED with custom Diamond pistons and the old Callie’s crank and Ultra rods.

It made 722 rwhp. All summer was spent working bugs out. Had the oil pump bypass valve stick open and replaced the oil pump. Started getting smoke out drivers side exhaust which turned out to be a worn titanium intake valve stem and guide. The rest of my free time and money was spent preparing for Drag Week.

In September, my buddy and I entered Hot Rod Drag Week and raced at five tracks in five days traveling 900 miles pulling a 1000lb trailer.

During the entire trip the car had zero major issues and only shedded one alternator belt. We managed a second place finish in Super Street Big Block Naturally Aspirated (with a small block) and runner-up in the Stick Shift shootout due to a red light on my part.

With the new engine the car has run best 1/4 mi to date is a 1.38, 3.90, 6.0@112, 9.41@147 with multiple runs to back it up. Best 1/8 mi, since 1/8 mi racing is big down here, 1.27, 3.70, 5.87@114.

I decided to sell the faceplated Magnum T56 so I can step up to possibly a GF5R or maybe even go to an automatic. The Magnum is badass! It is Bullet proof and shifts like butter AND has two overdrive gears that make it a dream to drive on the open road.
