'81 Mustang Cobra
The car:
The old SBF 332.
Well, it's time to get the SSSTANG back on the road. The car has been sitting without an engine since July 2005 after a solid roller lifter came apart and pieces found their way through the 332. After that I put the car on the back burner and built a 30'x40' shop, then spent four years in Belgium with the USAF, retired and returned to start an auto detailing business. During this down-time (car) I tossed around ideas for a new engine. From rebuilding the SBF 332, to stepping up to a 363, to a turbo engine. Then in '09 I saw Tim's (Gray86hatch) LS build for his Mustang and it got my attention. I have followed his progress since and have been saving nickles and dimes.
Right before Christmas I bought a LH6 shortblock off ebay and sent the block to ERL. I talked to Seth a couple days ago and he was shipping my 454 dry sleeve shortblock out yesterday.
I have been gathering parts since Christmas but still have a ways to go.
Ed Curtis at Flowtech Induction has the Mast 305's for assembly and will be getting Mast 4500 intake next week. He will also be providing cam specs.
Tim and Ed have been answering questions and advising on this engine and I know it will be bad-***.
