Small, unimportant update.

Got the AJE K Member installed. Went in perfectly. No issues whatsoever. Now I just need to take the OEM A arms off and move all the suspension stuff over. But Im having issues getting the bolts loose that hold the A arms onto the stock K member...even with the impact gun and soaking in PB Blaster...so maybe that's a sign I should just buy tubular control arms

 

Sure is, what's a few more bucks? Spring for the arms lol

 

But then I'll have to spring for coilovers...and camber plates....such a vicious expensive cycle lol

 

There are some aftermarket arms that allow use of stock springs, but man, those strange 10 way struts are cheap, and ready for coil overs....

 

What arms are those?

Yea just need to buy the perches which are fairly cheap. But I agree with Mike

 

Got the K Member, manual rack and steering shaft installed. All went together pretty easily. Also mocked up my LT1 radiator and fans. Need to make some hold down brackets for them.

Also, split two sockets down the side trying to loosen the damn front control arm bolts so I can reuse the arms. Suckers must be fused to the old K member. I should probably just buy new stuff...but it is out of my budget

 

I have the springs perches already...which is why I want to stick with the OEM arms lol

 

Use the stock radiator hold downs.

 

Don't have any....or I cant find them anyway.

 

Those bolts may have Locktite on them, a propane tourch and some PB blaster should loosen them , especially the heat..

 

Oh really? Guess I didn't think of that. I'll light em on fire before I buy new stuff I guess!

Update,

Picked up a 15 gallon RCI fuel cell. Brand new, sumped, 90 ohm sender, foamed, aluminum...for 85 bucks. STEAL!

Unfortunately progress will halt for a little while as I will be buying a house here soon!

 

Fuel Cell arrived!

Quick little test fit in the spare tire area. Seems as though it will fit just perfect in there with a proper bracing and a section cut out of the sump.

Having a flange made. I want to use 2.25" tubing for my hotside for slightly better spooling characteristics. And I figured 2.25" would be kinda tricky to make fit on a standard T4 flange. So I used some AutoCAD software at work to make a flange and am having a friend cut it out with a CNC Plasma table.
