After many night of sanding the glue off the roof rails, I am still not done. Only about halfway. So, I moved on to something different. Started to box the rear in and make it look better. After I finish this, then back to sanding...

The panels in the back look good. Keep the updates coming.

Its not going to be much of a trunk... Probably too hot to put stuff in it as well. Here is the panel work done. Now I just need to get some mesh to put in the center to make it look all blocked off.

I also got my axles back today. They are perfect this time! Now back to sanding the glue off the roof so I can paint and get the cage back in.

Good to hear they set you straight with the axles. That was a big step forward for this whole project.

Its been a month since my last update so I thought I would throw another one out there. Progress has been pretty good. Most of the interior has been sanded down and repainted to its final color. That was the time consuming part. The cage is currently going in. I should get most of the cage done tonight. No more updates will be given until all paint, body work, and tube work is done. I want to keep some of you on the edge! Here is your sneak peak to where I am now.

S10xGN - Man you nailed that one. It does have the Grave Digger theme going on!

David - Thanks for the good words. Sorry I have to keep you waiting for the next update but it will be worth it! Next picture you see will be of the car 100% painted, all bars added, cage done and ready for its final assembly.

Joe G - Was your Bug green on the outside or just green accents? I am going white on the outside for now. We will see how it looks. Might end up going black with green fenders if I don't like it all white.

A long time ago I was looking around on the internet and found this cool bug. I like it so much I downloaded the pic. After reading your build thread it reminded me of the pic I had. I think your build is going to be awesome by he way.

Here's a pic of the Bug, maybe unrelated, but someone mentioned no fenders. I don't remember if it was a serious comment or not.

Either way, this thing is cool as hell and may inspire you.

That would be a nice place to warm up burritos for a snack.

My bug was 1971 Plymouth Sassy Grass green inside and out including the fan and cylinder shrouds. N50 Mickeys out back and skinnies on the front, both on aluminum slots. It was quite an eye catcher, you don't see Sassy Grass very much (perhaps for good reason!). It was darker than Sub Lime, the Dodge color.

Sassy Grass and white is a great combo IMHO. Not on a big car but a little bug? Perfect in my book.

Droptopws6 - I did make a joke about leaving the Bug with no fenders. That isn't going to happen though. My fenders are just too nice looking to leave off! Now I wouldn't mind chopping the top a little to get the drag coefficient down (and look pretty cool)

Casias - Just you wait.... When you see it with the mesh screen I am putting back there, it will be 100% food truck ready. Need it BBQ'd, put your food next to the header. Need it warmed up, put it next to the heat exchanger. No need to bring a BBQ to the track for me!

Joe G - I do like the shade of green you painted yours. Like you said, its just a little darker then lime. Where are the pictures of the Bug itself!?

I'm afraid I didn't document my youth very well in photos...we didn't have digital cameras or cell phones in the 80's... which I try to teach my children has both good sides and down sides. I will see if I have any but I don't think I do.

I'm sure enjoying watching your build. That's a downside of when I did mine, we didn't document anything.

More teasers.... You can see most of the cage but still have more bars to add

Dashboard and cage are looking boss, sir. Always enjoy seeing updates on this. One of my favorite builds on here.
