dang I forgot but it was under 3000lbs. just depends what you decide to take out. Seems most are easy under 3200lbs. Mine was 89 coupe, manual windows and locks. Has a/c and a 4L60E and complete interior. Steel hood and 10 holes, no light weight.

must have had the steel one, some of the later ones had a Fiberglass, plastic kind. Now here's a tidbit. Years ago my friends Mustang had the front support removed and was involved in a fender bender which crushed his front end. His insurance company refused full coverage as he was liable for removal of safety equipment. It went to arbitration and he still lost out. useless info if you have a uninsured track car.

Running around without some sort of front bumper is pretty nuts. 24lbs is approx 0.025/sec through the 1/4 so is your life really worth a 0.025 second gain? Something to think about

Be safe

I agree, since my car is full interior and has ac still I drive it on the street A LOT so I still have all my bumpers and door bars in place still. Was just curious as to the weight.

Aside from the usual tubular k-member, a-arms, coilovers, and tube rear suspension stuff what are some other ways that are cheap and safe to remove weight wise?? I'd love to be under 3k with me in it.

My termi fox notch weighs 3060. It has ac and all. The only weight reduction is tubek/arms and drag wheels. The termi motor + supporting crap has to be another 300lb over a ls.

I dunno if I will be able to achieve my goal on my car but I'm gunna shoot for 2500lbs with an iron block/th400 with 2 seats and a/c... I'll be doing a carbon fiber front cap, glass doors(the functional ones) and everything else I can. I'll have a lot of money in it but I've read of some race cars under 2400 w/ 25.5 cages.. so I'll probably end up around 2550-2600 but I'm only going with a 8.50 cert 12pt cage.

Hmm, what trans with that motor? I'd figure we'd be close since mine is a turbo lq4 so add the weight of the turbo, intercooler, inercooler pipes, bov, wastegates and the 4l80e is one HEAVY trans! I'm at 3000 with a full interior and ac but would like to be a bit lighter.

Wow, that's a serious goal! That'd be awesome to get a car down that light with ac and interior.
