few months later... dolly's done at the shop! Shout out to Mayhem Motorsports for the dyno tune and looking over the car for me! Fixed a few leaks for me and got it tuned up real nice! didnt get it home until it was dark out earlier this week, but took it out for a spin today and HOLY COW. I havn't had a smile on my face like that in a veryyy long time!!! Had to peddle first, peddle second, and still lost traction in third while rolling. This thing rolls!!

Ill try to upload some vids on youtube real quick and post them on here.

finished product, following same precedure as some of the s2000 guys who do diy hood vents...came out pretty good!

the perforated sheet isn't attached permanently yet, still need to paint it black and touch up the edges of the hood where i cut through.

Default More updates

Got more of the hood scoops done aaaaand got some awesome gopro footage drivin it around my back roads, will post a link another time when i get a video together!
Also got a box of exhaust parts in the mail yesterday. Gonna go magnaflow muffler at the rear and some sort of resonator in the middle.
Any suggestions on a muffler better than magnaflow? I want it more on the quieter side. want a nice rich deep tone with no annoying rasp. Let me know if yall know of anything!

Thanks for the support guys and gals, stay tuned for more!

Few updates. Just ordered a magnaflow 6x14" round muffler to complete the exhaust, but i got most of it built and out the back for the time being. Man its a night and day difference when its not just open headers blaring under the cabin LOL... Got my hood vents done. Came out sweet. Gonna have the hood repainted when i have the doors and fenders matched though. I was a few beers deep with the grinder in my hands last night lololol **** me right. Whatever. Should help keep engine bay temps down, lower the parachute effect the datsuns have, and hopefully everyone agrees that they look pretty stylish. If not, eh, go fuckyaself i like um.
Will get a vid together soon of everything iv got so far

Looks good. I like how vents & body line of the inspection lids match up.

thanks man! it was going to be a plain rectangle down the hood, then i began to question the integrity of the hood with that long of a gap in the structure. so i designed in a lateral support beam and instead of it being plain and perpendicular, i made it continue the lines of the inspection lids. all sides of the vents run parallel to its closet panel gap or body line also!

hope the s2000 guys idea i adopted sparked some similar ideas amongst yall! heres where i got the idea if anyone wants to check it out

I live in Summerfield and am doing a LS conversion on my 260Z. I would love to see your Z in person.

come to cars and coffee on march 26th! I'll be there! The datsun's back in my garage in another city now, i risked it on the dragon long enough without a fuel cell cage to protect it from debris so for the next few weeks it'll sit until i can fab up a cage under the rear.

thinking about making the fuel cell cage dual purpose... skid plate that adds to the body's undercarriage aerodynamics...

Just a heads up, the Datsun probably won't make it to Cars and Coffee this weekend. It's back in my garage in Durham where I'm fabbin up a cage/ rear diffuser around the fuel cell and with my school and work schedule I don't really want to spend all the time trailering it back and forth just to get it for the first cars and coffee when there will be more this summer. I'll post up when it makes it back to gso for you and any other that may be interested though!

this was just easin through 2nd, getting a clean pull, and granny shiftin into 3rd pushin it to the top of 3rd. didnt want a cop to come out of nowhere and see me roasting through 2nd and 3rd lol this ************ pulls like a champion. ive taken cars and bikes over 200mph and this thing scares me. top of third gear was probably a little over 100mph. its more of the float from bad aerodynamics that scares me

My z has had speedometer issues most of its life but feeling the front end getting light is a dead give away the car is topping triple digits.

And yes, right around red line in 3rd on mine.

Got some more updates. Took her to vir for hyperfest, made a friend! Also started building the grid frame for a front lip and the frame that will go around the fuel cell that will double as a rear valence. Gonna get some .6" t6061 from a local metal supply company and cut out the shape i need to give the front end some downforce
