Default ls wiring

Not sure where to post this but here it goes. I'll be buying a 5.3 from the local JY from a 04 envoy and I will be getting the harness and pcm. The problem is it is drive by wire and not cable driven. Being as this is my first swap I don't want to mess with the drive by wire. I just want to know if I can get a pcm from say a 00 silveraldo if that will work? After I make it a standalone of course. Thanks!

I would just keep the dbw, it's not any more difficult than cable if you get the pedal, TAC module, and throttle body from the same vehicle. Plus you get electric cruise control that's easy to wire. I mounted the dbw pedal by cutting off the donor vehicles pedal/arm and welded my original pedal on it so it still looks stock.

Didn't think it was that easy. It's going to go into my 87 trans am. Just wasn't sure if it was worth the effort. Also idc about cruise control. Haven't had that for a long time haha

I didn't think to ask what transmission you were using, if it's not an electronic trans (4l60e/4l80e) that's when the DBW will be a pain. Take a look at lt1swap.com if you haven't, it has a wealth of info on wiring.

Scroll down to the conversions and hybrids section and start reading (please don't be that guy that post 20 questions that have been already answered 20 times each), you'll probably find all of the info you'll need to know about the entire swap process.

Cool

Just saw this in the For Sale section, looks like it could be useful for you...

Also - lots of swap info specific to your car can be found right here.
