Default key switch not powering starter problem

Bought a wrecked 2000 camaro with ls1 and swapping every thing I can into a 1956 GMC truck. Hooked up the factory harness to go about starting the engine and although it has power it will not crank..I'm also using the column out of the camaro. The body control module makes like a click - beeping sound and the seat belt light in the cluster flashes when I turn the key . Fuel pump runs and I can jump across the starter to turn the motor over. Is there some kind of security device limiting the power to the gauges and from the key switch?

And do you have the neutral safety switch hooked up? Is VATS removed from your pcm?
Is your Key matching the bcm?

The key chip will send a signal to the bcm saying its a match and will provide signal to starter relay providing vehicle is in park/neutral or clutch is pushed in.

If you replaced the ignition cylinder because of missing keys, you will need a Tech 2 to program key to BCM. Either dealership(good luck) or a shop that has one.

It's a t56 swap and I have the pedal hitting the switch for clutch. Have the original keys that came with the car so everything is factory. Done nothing to pcm yet. When the key is in run position the security light in cluster is not on but the body control module is beeping and the seat belt light in cluster flashes rapidly....

I think it's more about a ground issue than anything.

Found a ground i missed on wires inside the cab. now the cluster shows the mileage, and all the lights for the abs and what not that arent hooked up.The bcm is silent and no flashing lights. turn the key and nothing, but the word SECURITY starts blinking. got the resistor and soldered them in for the bypass but yet again still nothing.....

i tried to start it by jumping the starter and it fires but will not stay running so guessing its not getting a signal to fuel pump either.

Any suggestions on what else to check.
