starter engaged....permantly

I was tooling around trying to get this started and it starts then runs for a second then off.I would tinker with something and try agian.Finally the starter just went haywire and with the key in the off position it just kept trying to start the car.I had to disconnect the battery to stop it.If the car started it would have grinded the flywheel away.WTF! is this all about?

never mind.gave the starter a whack and the solenoid freed up

You'll need to take starter apart and clean it. maybe put a shot coat of paint on it while your at it to look pretty. As far as you not running issue, Do you have any codes?

its just like the vats problem.starts,runs 3 seconds stalls.I was told the vats was deleted.It wouldn't do anything.So I got one of those ebay Vats bypass things and now it starts and stalls.I wasn't getting anything from the injectors,now I get fuel.I will just get a reprogram to delete the VATS all together.I pulled some papers from the last owner and The ECM was reprogrammed but it says nothing about the VATS.Just a receipt for services rendered.Should I look at anything else that could give me the same problem?

Check the starter pinion to flywheel clearance. I had that problem when I first started mine.

Are you using the OEM relay setup or just a large gauge purple wire from key to starter solenoid ?

If using a relay... I would check those circuits (relay signal or grounding).

Put a scanner on it and check for codes. Also injectors could be sticking from sitting. Double check harness to make sure connectors are full seated and grounds are good. Let us know what codes you are getting.
