I guess I don't understand what is going on in the pic above. Are you only mini tubbing the front half of the rear wheel well in order to keep the OEM rear shock mount? I've never seen that done but I guess it would work OK.

Also what 64post mentioned above about cutting holes in the floorpan and dropping the cage through to the ground in order to weld the halo works quite well. I have done that many times and have gotten the tubing very flush to the roof while still having plenty of clearance for a TIG torch.

Yes, we are only mini tubing the front of the wheel well to clear the rims. The car has a 2001 GT 8.8 which is wider than the 94. So we bought 7.25 bs wheels and they put the tires real close to the stock fender wells in the front. So we made a little extra room where needed. In the picture below you can see what we removed to give extra clearance.

As far as cutting holes in the floor for the cage. On the SN-95 it is easy to cut the roof off because all of the welds are hidden under panels when you put the car back together. It turned out great the cage is right against the head liner.

We haven't been able to do a lot of work this week, but we have a most of the body work done and will be painting it soon. Sent rings back to total seal with a piston so we get right ones back. Waiting on Pro-systems carb and Crane to make the cam.

Car looks great, any idea what it might weigh without you when complete? Are you going to do the back portion of the wheel tubs?

I have no idea what it will weigh. We have a lot of stuff to put back in it still. For now we just are doing the fronts, and that is only so the 29.5x10.50's will fit wit a 7.25" backspacing on the rims. Later on we may do tubs and coil overs in the rear.
