Default 4.8 dbw, moving to a Ls6 intake?

I'm building a 72 Nova and put in a 4.8 (LR4) with the DBW throttle body and now discovered that the engine is just high enough in the car that I can't close the hood.

So I'm looking to put a car intake on it, and am trying to figure out what the right combo would be. I'm just running power steering, & alt, so for now i'm thinking this will work:

LS1/6 intake(?) -can I use the truck DBW throttle body? will it fit?
-injectors and rails for the car intake
these adapters to work around the accessories:

I've got this PSI harness, and I really hope I don't need to chop it up to adapt:

Oh btw, i used the 4.8 just because it was cheap as hell at the time.

If anyone has the parts I need layin' around I'd be happy to buy 'em from you

Do you have the trans mounted and drive line angle set already? Have you test fit the hood to see what all may hit? If it's the evap solenoid and the one boss, the remove evap solenoid and plug and trim down the boss.

Dbw tb should fit your ls6 intake. You will have to put a breather on the pass side valve cover.

yeah, everything else is mounted and angled correctly. I think the problem here is that I had a guy weld up frame mounts for the engine to accommodate my engine mounts rather than get the adjustable engine mounts I was supposed to get which would have mounted on the factory frame mounts.
Hence, the engine ended up just a fraction too high.
Live and learn.

Now i've got an LS6 manifold on the way and am going to order the dirty dingo relocation stuff and an LS1 water pump.

As far as adapting my PSI DBW truck harness to the LS6 intake, I think i'm going to need these EV1 to EV6 connectors:
http://secure.ultracart.com/catalog/.../KIT-1012.html

but i'm not sure if I need something else too. I'm going to put the three bolt DBW truck throttle body on the LS6 intake.

and so the saga continues.

Apparently there was enough room to shave down the intake a fraction and get the hood to close after all.

So now I've got a lovely LS6 intake, rails, injectors, and Dirty Dingo alt relocation bracket lying around if anyone is interested.

At least this means I should hopefully have this beast fired up and on a dyno within a week!

Anyone want to take a guess at HP numbers? beyond the stock 4.8, i've got 1 3/4 in full length headers and a 2.5in Pypes mandrel bent exhaust. If the engine is 275 stock, I'd like to think 300 at the crank is possible.

I shaved the boss down on mine, I also trimmed the inner brace, but didn't really need too. It gave me another inch or so clearance just in case.

The story gets better now. Tuesday was first start up and dyno day...
The 4.8 ran 30 seconds and seized! Junk

Got an lq9 coming tomorrow to take its place. In a 3000lb Nova with street radials it should last just fine and be a blast.
