What are your plans for the shock towers? I assume that they are going away. Are you going to patch them like the guys that do mustang II front ends, or are you going to replace the entire inner fender sheet metal?

I haven't decided for sure. Easy way would be to cut tower and weld in a flat plate. Then form some metal to patch lower sheet to frame. I'm open to other ideas. Anything that looks decent.

Yes. I saw that video at a friends house on big flat screen with a large sound system. Big sub sitting right behind me. That's the way to watch it. Waaaay better than on phone.
I'm just sorry I don't have some decent money to throw at this project. Its all low buck. I look at other peoples build threads, and am embarrassed at mine. I've got to spend a little time getting my bronco ready to take down to Johnson valley to watch the King of the Hammers this Feb. My new king coilovers will be here first week of Jan, and I need to finish my rollcage and rear bumper, and some electrical crap.
After I get the cougar frame welded up, I'll take interior apart, and dash area to put a cage in. I want to run some tubes through firewall to front of frame by radiator support for reinforcement.

OK. Got it sitting on some tires now. The front temp tire is 24" tall compared to the previous tire (245/45r17) at 25". The spindle CV is a little higher than the diff CV as you will see in the next pic. I don't like gap between the top of tire and fender. I did some looking and found some taller tires that would look better. M&H racemaster makes some 275/50-17, and 325/45-17 tires that are 28.0" tall.

I don't like the CV joint angle. Not sure how much I can get away with while running lot as of HP.

That angle is a bit much. Level would be better. Can you move the frame section up anymore?

Put in a 2"x3" cross member at front.

If I move the frame up higher, the steering shaft joints will be at an even worse angle. The front driveshaft angle will be offset more. I'm thinking of running a taller tire for better wheelwell fitment, (I'm not a fan of super low profile tires on '60s cars). I wasn't that thrilled with the look of the tires that I have been running. I just like the look of a little more sidewall. 19" and 20" wheels look like baby donk. Too south of the border. Personal preference I guess. I'll adjust the height so the CVs are at a better angle.

level cv's would be perfect but I dont think they look to bad where they are in your picture.

I don't want to mess with the diff placement just yet. I need to play with engine placement first. I want to mount the engine as low as I can.

Those CVS won't last 1000 miles. I had a ZR2 and had them the same angle roughly but the other way and they were destroyed very quickly.

I'm gonna have to take a short break from the cougar to work on the bronco. It gets front cage work, coilovers for the rear, rear bumper, and some electrical work. Its going to the mojave desert the first of Feb. Next on cougar is an interior stripping for a full roll cage
