Default SHAMELS 93 notch 5.3/s475 build

Picked up a 93 coupe, 4 banger car, black interior. Roller... and I do mean roller. It needs EVERYTHING.

Catching a bunch of lip about LSx swapping this thing from some die hard ford guys, but it's ok. My DD is a '13 5.0 auto

Car has a straight body, some small dents, no rust... good start. Paid $550 for the car with a braced 8.8 with 31 spline 4 lug axles. All that's going out though.

Plans for the car:

-5.3/s475/glide
-stock truck harness modified to a stand alone and keep a/c
-chassis harness ripped out and redone with a EZwiring 12 ckt kit
-Team Z LS swap k-member kit
-Flaming River manual steering kit
-Team Z subframe connectors, mini tub kit, etc
-narrowed 9" rearend of some sort, TBD once i get closer to that
-Scott Rod fab weld-in inner fenders panels, frame covers and tower covers
-etc etc etc

all in for suggestions, experiences, etc.

What did the previous owner do to "brace" the rear end?

If your keeping A/C then just keep power steering too, and ditch the glide for a AOD unit. I have a glide in my Fox with power steering, and power brakes. The glide works well at the track, and is pretty cheap, but it really kills the drive-ability for regular street use. Also a built 8.8 is a much easier swap than a 9", and will take some serious abuse. I'm putting 656whp through mine without a problem.

TH400 is an option. Im tryin to retain some room for piping by ditching PS. A/C is mounted low so shouldnt be an issue. I want to retain exhaust out the rear if.possible.

R u using a stock harness? Wondering if all a/c pins are required. And how did u tie it in to the factory controls?

Nice start , good $$$ on car. As far as trans goes, i would do a 4sp auto. I have a th400 and 3:55 gears and turn 3,600 rpms @ 63mph unless its a mostly track car than do the 400.. good luck with the build

bout got this wiring harness 75% done. removed all the unnecessary crap and ordered the obd2 port, and fuse/relay block. i also ordered a speedway motorsports mini 12 circuit wiring kit to re-do the chassis harness. ill update as i progress. along with all that i have some techflex sleeving on the way to pretty it all up.

i also came up with this, i plan to ditch the pcm a/c control functions and run it straight off the fox controls and let the ecu adjust idle without any other interface
