I am not sure of the exact number, but any difference of a certain percentage from one cylinder to the adjacent cylinder can indicate head gasket problems in that cylinder. If it is a cold check, adding a small amount of oil can give you the proper results. Don't ask for numbers though lol. Google should pop results for cold compression and such.

try to start up today. it threw a code for cam sensor.
Mechanic said it looks like a bad lifters. The only thing i did to the lifters are changing one of the tray to ls2 tray.
any ideas guys?I told my mechanic to stop investigating since I'm upgrading to ls3. No point in keep dumping more labor fees into this.

I thought the other day it fired right up?
How does a cam sensor code equate to bad lifter? I'm asking because that could be good to know. Even replacing bolts and gaskets, it would've been faster and cheaper to pull the heads or at least front cover. A new shop might be worth considering.

So he replaced the coolant temp sensor
let it run for a few mins and it literally fire started on the rear passenger header near the spark plug.
He said the engine doesn't sound healthy. It might be tuning, bad lifters or the lifter have not soak enough oil since the engine hasn't been run.
All in all, it gonna cost a lot more money to figure it out the issues, and I don't want to do that because ill be selling the engine and upgrade to ls3 in a few weeks.
compressions are arnd 210-190 across the cylinders
This is also with open headers

Nice score on the L92 SHORTBLOCK. HOW MANY MILES?
#54
He claimed that it is around 45 k miles, but I didn't hear the engine ran. Im going to change the bearings just to be safe.
I saw some on sale here for 950 for just the short block. that is after i purchased this engine. I shld have when that route and get a whole different rotating assemblies and make it a 416 ci.
