I've been waiting in line a few weeks to have my frame welded up by a "real" welder. It was worth the wait

It took almost a full day to complete all the welding....front cross member, X brace pieces, rear end brackets and frame notches, etc. The rotisserie came in handy for transporting and also made the welding a little easier.

When the frame got back home we threw it back in the frame fixture that was built off the original frame. It fit like a glove . Since this car drove sooo straight when it was original this is a big plus and good peace of mind.

What brand of front end did you use? I like the kind that take shims rather than relying on the T bolts in the slots, I've had them slip before, not fun.

Eric the front end kit is from TCI - being able to use shims instead of the T bolts was a selling point for me.

Clearance work for an 8" brake booster. The booster can be removed by itself if it ever needs to be changed while leaving the bracket in place on the car. I had to get down into the radius of the channel so I'll probably be making another piece later to give it some strength back.

I almost installed an 8" to begin with, but I went with the 7" supplied in the kit. I just needed a little push to change to the 8" - thanks Eric and Oscar Will! The exhaust going by won't have much clearance, but what else is new?

Went over to our local freight terminal last week and picked up some goodies that I had ordered. I went with the Connect and Cruise package that has the LS3/4L65E combo with computers, harnesses, etc. I raised the factory engine crate and put some cheap casters on the bottom so I can move it around easily.

Roothawg go ahead and commit so we can come up the learning curve together

Here is the tranny (really nice shipping case by the way) and all the misc stuff that comes with it. As tempting as it is to go ahead and mount the motor/trans into the car, I've already started on the next fab project on the car.....SO the motor/trans will just have to wait a little while.

Things look fantastic and you are making amazing progress. My physical condition has changed over the past while and I am going to have to abandon my 37 unable to do the physical work on it anymore. I will keep watching your build though going to be a great car when done.
