Default E38 cruise control?

In my build below I have the following setup:

418LS3 GEN IV
ls3 top end
Ls1 accessories

I'd like to use the wiring/ecu/pedal from the stock 2007 l92 motor, but I want to retain cruise control for long distant trips.

A sponsor on this site has informed me it is impossible to retain the cruise control with the e38 and my only option is a change of harness, ecu and pedal....??? Is there really no other way? Was I really that poorly informed and why am I just now learning this???

At that point should I simply go aftermarket....holley hp or dominator?

Get the BCM for the vehicle you have the ECU from and wire it up per factory manual. You will need to have the correct resistance values for each set and resume functions. connect them in series with +12v ignition. Remember the TCC release function is opposite as the older LS! boxes. The E38 needs +12V applied to disangage the TCC.

ha ha I am 80 miles west of you.

Sounds like you should just swing by and help me out then!!

The BCM would be from a 07 escalade, how involved would this be? I think I only want that one function.

Pretty easy; about 10 wires total. BCM are cheap with the connectors; like less than $40.

I think you might have misunderstood me on the phone. I mentioned it is possible to do it with the BCM and the ECM.

The only way to do it with only an ECM is to use an E67.

Sorry about the confusion on that!

Bill

Video is private and there is no mention of cruise control on their website unless I missed something.

Spanky's rod shop does make a cruise kit, but it's expensive, like $600 or so if I remember correctly. It's on their website, but no mention of cost there.....

Bill,
I think I understood you on the phone but was under the impression that incorporating the bcm would be very complicated if not impossible.

If getting a modified harness from you and using my e38 ecu and incorporating a bcm is my best option for cruise control, then that's what I'll do.

If I'd be better off by switching to the E67 ECU, harness, and pedal would be better/cheaper/faster...then that's what I'll do.

If I'd be better off by switching to aftermarket ecu/wiring to incorporate CC, then I'll look into that as well.

At this point, I'm hoping to be into reassembly shortly and feel the simplest/fastest route to getting to my goals is most important. Time is my limited resource

I'll be anxiously waiting to hear your opinion/quote to get me squared away. Thanks.

No luck getting a response from them yet. If this is still a viable option it may be the fastest/simplest fix

In the links the others have posted, if you look under the video, there are three pictures, two harnesses and an LS3 in the middle, it's under that. No other info, just says to call them with a phone number.

And an additional $600.".......

E38 BCM cruise can cost less than $50 total if you get used BCM and switches.
