simplest swap
Hello, I plan to do a swap with a mechanic/fabricator of mine. What are the closest to bolt in swaps in a sleeper vehicle? I am thinking a mid 2000s truck would obviously be the easiest yet I need more HP to for the sane times as something faster.
Maybe an s10? I'm not looking at F bodies right now. Any sedans or innocent looking cars?
My buddy owns his own shop and is fine with fabricating, but he is going to charge me way too little and I don't want a super difficult swap. Obviously they are all big deals, but still. Thanks.

The easiest swaps are those that originally had Chevrolet engines (or GM clones of those cars), that also have ample aftermarket support with bolt in mounting kits. Something like a GM g-body would fit that description, they were available in 4 doors.

4 doors? The only G body cars that come to mind were coupes. Monte Carlo, Regal, Cutlass Supreme, Grand Prix. I agree completely, a Gbody like an LSx Cutlass Supreme would take many by surprise!!

Grab a 00-05 4.3 V6 shortbox pickup, two(lower it) or four wheel drive(jack it up) from a neighbourhood grandpa, swap a cammed and tuned 6.0 into it,or if you have a few more bucks a turbo or two on a 5.3.Smoke the tires off it and laugh your *** off for a weekend or two worth of time and effort if you line up all the pieces beforehand. As easy as it gets, why overthink and over work it...

Maybe a Zq8 S10/Sonoma. They came lowered from the factory with a thicker front swaybar and have a rear swaybar and lowering springs and a tighter ratio steering box. They handle pretty good for being trucks. They make swap kits for them and wire harnesses. Major mod would be notching the engine crossmember depending on the oil pan you use.

There are a couple guys on here that could help. But the best place to look for help would be here. http://www.s10forum.com/#/forumsite/20875/forums/213Tons of information for s10 swaps.

2WD looks easy. They came w/ the 4L60. Vette accessories, maybe a notch on the passenger rail for the AC compressor. It's a little tight.
4WD is another ballgame.
Read threads on here non-stop, read that S10 forum. Takes or save notes on all the stuff that works, the little tips and tricks, and you'll be able to plan ahead a good amount.

You are so wrong. The pictures provided are in fact a 4dr Regal, and Cutlass. Two of my uncles had 4dr Cuttys back in the day, one of which had a Olds455 swapped in with nitrous. Do some research or at least know what you're talking about before posting bad info.

Take it easy, deuce! Look at post #8. The pictures seen in this thread are of '78-'80 G-bodies. In the first pic, it appears to be an '80 Buick Regal (could also be a Century, as we had an '80 Century)...2nd pic, an '80 Olds Cutlass Supreme...and in the 3rd, a '78 or '79 Chev. Malibu.
Prove me wrong then.
