Default Low fuel pressure (Fixed)

This is my first engine swap. I have a 1966 Chevy C10 with a 5.3 from a 05' Silverado. I have only 36 lbs of fuel at the schrader valve.

I installed a under the bed Boyd welding tank that came with a Aeromotive Stealth 340 Fuel Pump. I ran 10 gauge for the power wire and 10 gauge for the ground wire.

I ran 5/16 fuel line from the tank to a LS1 Fuel Filter/Fuel Regulator from Speedway motors. The return line from the regulator to the tank is also 5/16. The fuel line from the Regulator to the fuel rail is 3/8.

My first mistake I made was I reversed return and feed fuel lines at the regulator. After I figured out I barely had any fuel pressure I switched them around. Now I only have 36 lbs. Is it possible I damaged the regulator?

Any advice you can offer this newbie sure would appreciate it.

Change filter reg to a wix same thing happened to me the speedway ones suck

I was using this one http://www.speedwaymotors.com/LS1-Fu...Kit,41791.html. I just removed it and installed a Wix brand one and it fired right up. I might have damaged the speedway one when I crossed the fuel lines. But anyway it was a great feeling when my motor started.

Bought the same Speedway kit and had the exact same problem. Took a while to figure out the problem but Wix is the cure.

So, I did the same thing putting the wrong fittings on the filter. Running the pump straight off the battery, I have what seems to be a decent amount of pressure. When I run through the harness, the fuel only dribbles out. I'm not sure what 58-60 PSI is supposed to look like coming out of a hose, but I thought it would be more. I guess I'll go pick up a new filter tomorrow and see if this fixes the problem.

60psi would not come out of an open hose, as there would be no restriction there to create the 60psi.

Do you have an autozone or o'reilly's near your house? They both will loan a fuel pressure tester.

Yeah, I have both, only O'reilly carries the WIX, so that's where I"m heading now.
