Todd

Headers and 302-2 oil pan delivered. Headers look great. Have ordered and waiting on the forward mount frame stands. Just want to confirm that the system is designed to use the stock 4th Gen f-body motor mounts. By the way, is your test vehicle a Chevelle or GTO. I am curious because, if it is a pontiac, my vehicle is a 69 pontiac and should have the same factory drilled holes to mount the frame stands.

Yes, the system is designed to use 4th-gen F-body motor mounts. I have utilized two Chevelles and a 1970 Lemans/GTO for the development of these components...all the frames are drilled to accept all the different motor mounts GM uses, so the holes will be where you need them to be to install the Hooker engine brackets.

Thanks for your words of support Darrell. Yes, building/managing these Hooker preview threads eats up a lot of my free time, but I keep them rolling since I enjoy helping guys get information that will help them solve common problems and help them end up with a better built project. Everything other than the exhaust system I'm working on should work fine in your wagon project.

Default Update 12/9/2015

Quick update for those following...I'm working on finishing up the development of the exhaust systems for this project and can confirm that both the 2.5" and 3" systems will be completelycompatible with the Hotchkis, Hellwig and Detroit Speed rear sway bar kits.

And a GTO specific kit that exits the pipes through the rear valance? Pretty please?

We discussed tailpipes/tips the other day for the exhaust systems Andrew and GTO-specific parts are not going to be included as an off-the-shelf option. We've selected one tip style to go with to create an exit appearance that looks good on the majority of the A-bodies. The A-bodies that were offered with through-bumper/valance tips will have to be accommodated on a custom basis by the user. The way that I'm finishing off the tailpipes will make it quite easy for someone to run custom tips out through the GTO valance cut-outs.

Thanks Todd. That's probably as good as anyone can ask for.

Default New Hooker 1968-72 A-Body LS Swap System Preview

Headers ordered. Going in the GTO when I receive them. Hopefully this will solve my ground clearance issue. And test the old school motor mount fitment.
2nd Chevelle frame stands on gto frame the holes are in all the frames.

Any word on when my frame stands will be ready to ship. Would be nice if they made it by Christmas.

I'll do some poking around tomorrow and see if I can find out anything.

Well I am not sending these back!! These look amazing and fit great absolutely the best fitting a body header I've seen. The clearance around the I shaft is amazing.
And number 2 head pipe has the best bend and angles that actually conforms to the frame.

The only complaint/ criticism is the passenger O2 bung points towards the frame which is common on other headers. So I had to re route the wiring over the top of the headers and zip tying the connector to the body mount area. I had it following the trans down.

I'm glad to hear the headers worked out so well for you...they should serve others well that are running a similar set-up also. FYI, the O2 bungs are indexed for compatibility with TH350, TH400, 2004R, 4L60-4L70, 4L80, T56 and T56 Magnum transmissions with the 4L80 shifter linkage being the most influential factor in the location.

Let us all know how your exhaust turns out once you get the Hooker headers connected to the rest of your system.

Will do. I'll take more pics from the side it's hard to see. I only took one it didn't turn out that great. I should if left one of the old ones to really show the ground clearance difference.
As you can see I'll have to change some things to work with my current exhaust I'm planning on running 3 into electric cutouts and mufflers. It's 2.5 now
