LS1-T56 swap into a 72 El Camino Daily Driver
Just sold my 67 Chevelle (LS2-T56)a couple weeks back. Bought a LS-1-T56 to put into a 72 El Camino. Wanting it to be a nice daily driver.
Put the same nasty cam in it I had in my last LS-2. Want the rumble as well as a little better performance.
Don't let the height of the T56 worry you. I had it raised so I could take the crossmember in and out with ease. It's sitting right down now. Looks like a good angle.

Been a busy & hot last 5 months
Well, last post was 5 full months ago. Been busy.
Got here cleaned up, surgery performed, installed my 2002 LS1-w-T56, swapped out the drivers side front fender and door skin, got the car running, and stopping, and painted.
This week I picked it up from the interior shop where I had him install pad and carpet as well as the vinyl top.
Been pretty hot here in the Phoenix AZ area this summer, but I just keep plugging away.
Few progress pics;
