Thanks for extending the offer 1964SS, but you're a bit too far away to make it feasible for me to take you up on it...all our LS swap and exhaust development work is done at our facility in Bowling Green, KY.

The guys in management will tell me at a latter date if we'll be developing a crossmember for the convertible/El Camino models with the boxed frames, until then they will just be treated as an exclusion from the application listing of the 2-door crossmember.
Yeah, it will be a requirement of the process to bring a Pontiac through here so that any frame differences can be validated and documented.
The biggest reason for delaying the development of a swap kit for any of the A-body applications was the fact that no oil pan existed at the time that would allow us to correct the outstanding issues needing to be addressed, which was being able to achieve optimized U-joint working angles AND proper oil pan-to-tie rod clearance simultaneously. Once the Holley 302-2 pan became available, we we're able to plan for the development of A-body swap systems.

I suspect that the 64-67 GM a-body clones all have unique holes in the front crossmember to accommodate the respective clone frame stands and engine mounts. While the 68-72 crossmember look like swiss cheese and have all the holes already drilled for the various clone frame stands.

It took 6 different 68-72 A-body cars to design and validate everything for that application, so it would be foolish of me to assume that I'd be able to get everything done on a single car for this application.
If any 64-67 2-door hardtop/sedan Lemans/GTO owner reading this wants to loan their car for this project in exchange for some headers, engine brackets and a transmission crossmember please speak up or send me a PM. I need the car to be in solid undamaged condition and to be equipped with the original frame...with or without engine and/or transmission is OK.

I don't have that, but can I be first in line when the product is ready for a 66 Chevelle? ![Rock](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies2/rock.gif)

That would be my guess also and I know there are frame horn differences between the models as well, so I'm going to deal with it in a logical way and bring a Lemans/GTO in here and perform a physical install on it.
It took 6 different 68-72 A-body cars to design and validate everything for that application, so it would be ignorant of me to assume that I'd be able to get everything done on a single car for this application.

Hey there Jim...he who gets his order in first once they are released will be the first to receive them. I design the Hooker LS swap parts and get them released, but I have no connection to the order or shipping processes.

If the Pontiac frames are anything like my 65 skylarks, the frame will have multiple bolt patterns in it. I removed my original 300 engine and bolted in chevelle frame stands into a different set of existing holes

I had sprayed my with just about every type of penetrant I had for a week before trying and was able to get them all out. Installed all new hardware, lubed up for the next guy that has to deal with it.

Yeah, these were pre-soaked with penetrating oil as well, but the level of corrosion built up on the portion of the threads protruding beyond the nuts was too much to overcome.

Do any of you guys following this thread have a stock 64-67 Chevelle trans crossmember that is out of your car and that can be measured/photographed for me to confirm some things I need?
