Hi i want to know an estimate of how much money it would be to buy all the stuff for this swap plus a typical mechanics charge for the swap. Im really interested in doing this to my v6 ive put in over 2000 in that car already and for me to buy a z28 or ss i would have to sell my v6 and its not selling so this is becoming an option

If you're paying someone else to do it and going for a stock conversion you are a ton of money and time ahead to just buy an LS1 car. I've seen LS1 cars go for only a little more than the engine and transmission will cost.

The only way this would really be a viable solution, would be to find a solid running donor car and transfer EVERYTHING over (and do all of the work yourself, only really worth it if your V6 shell is super clean). If you're paying someone to do this, it would be cheaper to take the loss on the V6 car and buy an LS1 car.

Agreed^ I'm in the process of doing the swap and really wishing I would of started with a ls1 base car. The little things nickel and dime you trust me.
