The new holley oil pan installed. the headers will be removed for installation of the motor. Need to find a new alternator and power steering bracket since it was damaged from the front end wreck. Power washed the motor with purple power.

Small update, I bought a full set of S60R brakes, also bought a set of Style 42 BBS on craigslist in seattle. I'm picking them up next week. We will be using our full brake kit for this swap they are on our website stsmachininginc.com

So Jeremy (volvo?) Came over and we decided to pull the old b230f and install the V8. Took us about 5 hours to pull the old motor and install the V8. Still need to work on the wiring harness, and work on the fuel system.

Worked on the rear Brakes today, I will finished the fronts tomorrow. I also picked up the driveline from the driveline shop. I still need to pull the motor again work finished up from work in the engine bay.

Bought adjustable pan rod and torque rods installed them today. Driveline is in, still need to work on the transmission lines and transmission cooler. Bought a brand nos coolant bottle and bracket. I was surprised the dealer still had them available.

We modify the lokar shifter base shorten. 250 to fit the stock Volvo bucket. Tig welded the ends, we had to cut out some of the parts of the bucket for clearance of the gear selector. It bolts up like factory in the tunnel hump.

Bought adjustable pan rod and torque rods installed them today. Driveline is in, still need to work on the transmission lines and transmission cooler. Bought a brand nos coolant bottle and bracket. I was surprised the dealer still had them available.

The Exhaust is finished, 2.5 to 3 inch over axle. I still need to finish the brakes lines.

We modify the lokar shifter base shorten. 250 to fit the stock Volvo bucket. Tig welded the ends, we had to cut out some of the parts of the bucket for clearance of the gear selector. It bolts up like factory in the tunnel hump.

The wiring harness is in and wired, got the intake painted and finished, should be able to start it up this weekend.

We had to modify the shifter a bit, extended the shifter. We have the linkages finished, will be posting pictures tomorrow.

Adding a limited slip helps the Dana 30 based rear end last. They tend to frag the spyder gears and all the torque going through one side doesn't help. The LSD does a better job of splitting the torque which makes it easier on the spyders. But - it's a 7 3/4" ring gear so there are limits. Sticky tires, hard launches - guys break 'em with V8's and the turbo 4's. Most just live with it as throwing in another from the JY is usually cheap and easy. Toyota 8" and Ford 8.8" are common swaps.
