I traded out the 4L80e I installed with my LS swap for a T56, and it was probably the best thing I've done to the car (including the LS itself). Pull the trigger and enjoy it.

I'll echo what many others have said re: master/slave/clutch. If you're trying to keep it relatively budget, go with the f-body master* (maybe do the drill mod) and slave, the adapter plate mentioned above, definitely the remote bleeder, and LS7 clutch. Spring for a Pro 5.0 or MGW shifter and you'll be set.

*I got a tick master with my T56, so I can't comment on the OEM m/c with or without the drill mod.

What did you guys do for a trans crossmember? I was just going to cut and reweld the perch on mine but was curious if anyone that had done so had pics or suggestions.

Took my TH350 crossmember, turned it 180, cut the tab off and repositioned it and welded it back on.

I didn't do anything to my 64. It had a powerglide in it previously. I moved the crossmember and redrilled the frame.

Same here, cut mounting tab off and re-welded to adjust for required drive line angle.

I'm hoping this will work the same way on mine...although the modded ones look very good...

I should've also mentioned I had to re-drill holes for crossmember to frame mounting.

I'd be interested in seeing the driveline angles in those setups.....
