Toolbox Turbo Sonoma Build

Enlighten me, and I mean that in a serious way as I am always open to more options, I did look at some of the Nissan zilvia forums and saw mainly complaints about the gear ratios, I then looked at eBay and saw prices from $600-$1345.00.
I just don't see it as a viable and cost efficient option, after needing all of the adapter parts and I just can't see how they could be more plentiful than the t56 which is considered already to be somewhat scarce and still very sought after considering how many cars came with the t56 vs. the amount of cars that come with the Nissan 6 speed.

The reason I used the Nissan transmission was because I needed to "test" my prototype kit so it was pretty much free for me (company paid for manufacturing costs). I picked the transmission up at a junk yard for $400.
We have been selling the 300zx (z32) adapter kit for over a year now for $595.
The 350z (z33) kit will be more expensive because the manufacturing cost is higher(more material on flywheel, additional starter adapter, etc.) It will probably retail for around $900.

very cool build , so you are basically taking the rear mount turbo that has been around for a while now and addressing a couple of its weaknesses by getting the filter up out of potential water intrusion areas and road dust ,grime etc... and also shortening the distance from turbo to IC so boost can build a touch quicker ?
any testing on how hot the inside of the turbo portion of the toolbox is getting ? and is it affecting how hot the filter side is getting ? ( you could put some reflective insulation to help separate hot side from cold side)

I guess as long as the outlet of the IC is close to ambient IAT's the intake side is fine. Did you see someone else do a similar remote turbo in an enclosure set up or was this your idea ?

IATs stay close to ambient, but it has also been cold out here in Ohio the past month. I have not taken any temperature readings inside the box, though. Opening the box after going on a drive and sticking my hand in there, it doesn't feel very hot.
I saw pictures of people putting turbos in the bed of the truck but never one in an enclosure or tool box so I thought it would be a good idea and something different.
Yeah, the truck is on Craigslist. I love the truck and wouldn't mind keeping it, but I just bought a "fixer-upper" house and could use the cash.

Me and my boy built a crew cab s10 for his first vehicle stretched frame and 6' bed. Ever since we have had it done he has been talking about putting an ls in it. We are around Mansfield and would love to come check this thing out sometime.

Sure! I'd love to show it to you guys when it's a bit warmer out so we could take it for a spin.
