Hey all- I don't have hood clearance for the truck intake or ridiculously high alternator mount.

I know most of you drill and tap the truck block for the fbody alternator bracket but I am running my manifolds down and forward for a turbo setup and am concerned about clearance and heat damage to alternator and wiring. Anyone have more details on mounting directly to the block like the pic below?

I am prob going to use an l99 waterpump for It's right forward output to match my older sbc better.

I think an alternator bracket that fits on the driver side top but lower maybe where dirty dingo idler relocation bracket goes would be ideal and then skip the idler?

Maybe like this if someone knows who makes this one attached below? Happy holidays!

i mount the alternator like that on my turbo truck. i use an ls2 waterpump and no idler. just enough wrap with a 53" belt to keep it quiet.

Like which? Directly to the block? What tensioner do you use the ls2? Any pics?

the last pic in this post shows it pretty good. right to the block with some 1/4" thick washers.

I'm running dirty dingo brackets. It uses truck spacing with fbody location. I'm also using truck manifolds for a turbo set up. I'm not to worried about the heat there is about 1" between them and my hot side is ceramic coated and wrapped.

Thanks guys! Do you still have to drill and tap the block or is it using different holes? It sort of looks like the same holes the fbody bracket uses?

I was planning on using 3 bolt flanges- maybe c bands will give enough clearance...

I would try to use the 3 bolt flanges, definitely go with vbands. Yes I still tapped the block but these blocks tap very easily so do be worried about that.

My 2K Z,
That is the only Dirty Dingo FEAD that actually looks good IMHO. Never knew that existed. truck spacing w/fbody location. . This should help some people.

The Holley kits do the same

https://www.holley.com/products/ls_p...s/parts/20-162

I thought the Kwik performance kits could be adjusted for different belt spacing as well.

Why no on the 3 bolt flanges? I figured it would hold the weight better?

Does anyone make a driver side mount like the original truck setup just lower?

I never seen this style from HOLLEY before. Anyone have any pics of it completely assembled on a engine?

It's also the cheapest option. Both brackets where like $110 for the pair.

I've got that ICT mount on my C5 pulley, it was less than $70. Truck offset shouldn't be much $$$ different...
