Default L83 gen v swap 1954 belair build thread

With not much info out on the internet about these swaps me and my mechanic are attempting it ..

Car: bagged 54 belair
Donor: 2017 5.3 with 6 speed trans
Harness reworked by speartech ecu also flashed by spear
Dirty dingo engine mounts
Chasiss engineering ls frame mount engine mounts

I really wanted to keep stock front suspension due to not wanting to redo the bag setup but the room I have to work with is not much so I bit the bullet and went with chassis engineering bolt on mustang ii crossmember witch is 3 weeks out from today

As far as the pulley setup I'm hoping I can get away with the ictbillet setup since it's way cheaper than the dirtydingo setup but we won't know until the mock up process starts if anyone has input let me know if not enjoy the journey with me

I looked at the ICT set up and the one thing I didn't like is that the power steering pump is on the passenger side. Plus I had to use a high mount AC compressor, so I just went with the Dirty Dingo set up. What oil pan do you plan on using? The Camaro SS pan gave me the best clearance out of all the pans that are available for the Gen V motors. Good luck with your build. My El Camino is almost done. I just need a cold air intake and the interior buttoned up.

I know this is an old thread but since I've done a similar swap I saved it.

Original Poster. What do you use for Transmission shift linkage? And my real question, what did you use for a reverse light switch? Im using the Cable shift linkage from ididit but i dont think the OEM 4L60e reverse light switch will work. I might be wrong but i dont have a spare one to use and try it
