Default '85 C10 LS1/4l80e

Hello Everyone, I am on several forums but thought I would come over for some maybe different member input considering my truck is LS Swapped. I have this truck for 16 years, need paint in the worst way. But so far the truck as of now has a '98 Fbody ls1/4l60e going to be an 80e real soon. It's not completely swapped and running. I'll try to update what I can remember for the parts list and stuff I used.
I had this ls1/60e in my shop sitting for several years. I also have a 66 Chevy II two door hardtop that will be getting ls swapped pretty soon.

So far the motor is all stock, so is the trans.
I had a 411 PCM laying around so I used that along with HPTuners. The Wireharness came from PSI conversions, I had them do an 80e trans harness since I know I am going that route.
Lokar throttle cable-48 inch ls1 universal. Lokar 71-72 C10 billet pedal, throttle cable mount, & shifter linkage
The motormounts and transmission crossmember came from TejasSteelWorks.
Drive shaft- shortened, resleaved, rebuilt, rebalanced, the works. Went with a 1350 style ujoint. All thanks to Drivetrain of Mesquite in Mesquite, Texas.
Had 243 heads lying around. Dropped them off for new valves, had them milled a tiny bit do to piston slap. Will be adding these and getting rid of the D580 coilpacks and permiter bolt heads in the near future.
Lunati double valve springs were also installed.
Will be going with AC Delco LS7 lifters.
Comp Cam 7.4 chromoly pushrods.
Cam- undecided Help!
ordered a TCI SFI rated flexplate this week
ordered a Circle D 278mm stall thid week for the 4l80e
had the 4l80e rebuilt with a trans go HD2 shift kit

Suspension- Drop kit for now- DJM read flip kit with some springs removed. DJM Drop spindles, DJM coil springs. Ordered the 5/7" drop but came down quite a bit lower then that. Have a triangulated 4 link, panhard bar ready to be welded on once I decided on a read end & coilovers. Also will be adding Ridetech, upper and lower control arms.
Wheels- 22"x9" Coys Gunmetal grey
tires-Pirelli Zero 285/35r22 in the rear, 265/35r22 front

Ditched the spring style hood hinges and installed a set of Wamrodz hood struts!
Right inner fender strut mount
Right strut mount for the hood
left fender strut mount

Thanks for the comments guys. If I change fuel rails in the future, I will buy more fuel line and run a different setup, for now I'm doing N/A, no turbo. Haha Ready to drive it. I have a '66 Chevy II 2 door hardtop I'll be doing a swap on soon so I'm going somewhat simple.

On a side note- I had to go to ebay for the best prices on my Lokar parts.... if anyone at Lokar sees this- I'm gonna want some stock shares and a way to purchase direct for the stuff I'll be putting on my Chevy II haha. Halfway kidding. So far, I have 0 complaints about the stuff I am using from Lokar. The price is up there, but these are solid quality parts. The pedal is to a 71-72 C10. But bolts up in the squarebodies just fine. Was a hard decision between going with the solid black or billet pedal assembly. Don't be shocked if I swap it out later just to see which I like best lol.

I try to stick with brands that I can order as much from as possible. That being said, the tank and sending unit are spectra premium. Tanks Inc, Boyd's Welding, & Rick's Tanks out of El Paso Texas make some really nice tanks for under the beds of the C10's and many more vehicles. But I went cheap in the $250 range vs $600-$1200. I will have over $500 in -6AN fuel line, the corvette filter/regulator, Walbro 255 fuel pump, Spectra Premium sending unit & fuel tank, and all the fittings in between. The fittings are a mixture of ICTBillet for the pushlock fittings & the two metric to -6AN fittings on the sending unit are from Earl's.

Spent $450 at a local machine shop. The heads were cleaned up, two valves were changed, and he installed my lunati double valve springs that I purchased last year. Seems like I was over charged IMO. Here they are:

Honestly, I'm not sure how much porting he did. But they should do well enough on a mostly stock ls1 with a head/cam swap.
Awhile back I thought about making a different water pump neck so i would not have to have the upper radiator hose go across my efans. So I picked up an LS3 crate motor water pump and it didn't line up with the fbody pulley's of course. So I tried out some 3/4" billet spacers for the water pump. They came from ICTbillet. Here is the installed result.

Please excuse the mess. The hose is from a 2010+ Camaro
still have to finish the wiring and throttle cable.

Please don't use the black AN adapters that have the plastic clips on them (the ones on your Corvette filter/regulator). They will burn your truck to the ground!

I used the other AN style, newer style from Russell on the rail. Not sure if you saw it, but that's why I did. I figure if it has a small leak on the filter, I'll notice since it will be on the frame rail. If it's on the fuel rail tho... I may not notice until it's too late. I know lots of people have used the old style but I was leary of them as well. I will most likely replace those on the filter regulator with the new style from Russell like the one I used on the fuel rail in the next couple of weeks.

Had the neck cut off the tank and welded up at a radiator shop.
Mounted a filler neck with a billet cap.

What did you use to seal that new filler neck to the tank? If you used a rubber gasket, it WILL leak.......

It came with a cork/rubber gasket, it came as a kit from Tanks,Inc. If it leaks, I’ll do something different. I doubt I ever have it full enough to leak up that high but we’ll see how it does.
