240sx ls swap question Quick and easy question I can't seem to find a direct answer for.
I keep searching to see which t56s mount to 04 gto ls1.
everything I see says others don't work simply because of shifter location, but I feel the responses are in relation to using a different one actually in a gto.
this is going in a 95 240sx and the gto t56 actually puts the shifter a bit further back than needed.
I bought the motor alone and want to broaden my options on finding a t56 to pair with it

Fbody and GTO T56 can be used. I used a GTO T56 with MGW shifter no issues. Could also swap out the Shifter Offset Lever on the GTO T56 for the fbody one and you have the shifter at the same location as Fbody.

If you don't have a transmission yet, then you should look for a F-body trans, they are the correct length.
An LS1 is an LS1, it doesn't care what chassis it came out of or what transmission you put behind it (unless you're trying to use the GTO engine mounts I guess)

Aside from the shifter location, the f-body and GTO T56's are the same externally. If you're using a GTO T56 then you will need to swap out the shifter lever for the F-body one:

With that shifter lever in place, get yourself the F-body 98-02 MGW shifter and rotate the orange block back 90 degrees and your shifter will be dead nuts in stock S14 location.
